The Bruins will once again take on one of the nation's most demanding schedules, including early matchups against North Carolina (Nov. 16), Texas (Nov. 23) and Nebraska (Nov. 28), and back-to-back December games against UConn (ESPN2, Dec. 21) and Notre Dame (Dec. 28).

Close said she promised these young players that she would put them up against the best.

She seems to be doing all the right things at UCLA. Good for her. I will be very curious if she's able to sustain it and knock Stanford off the west coast perch...

Of course, Nirra Fields was not even close to be the youngest player on the Canadian National Team.

Of course, Nirra Fields was not even close to be the youngest player on the Canadian National Team.

What the article says is that Nirra is "one of the youngest players on Canada's national team", and that's perfectly accurate.

Shona Thorburn 8/7/82 (32)
Lizanne Murphy 3/15/84 (30)
Kim Gaucher 5/7/84 (30)
Tamara Tatham 8/19/85 (29)
Courtnay Pilypaitis 2/11/88 (26)
Krysten Boogard 2/18/88 (26)
Miranda Ayim 5/6/88 (26)
Miah-Marie Langlois 9/21/91 (23)
Michelle Plouffe 9/15/92 (22)
Katherine Plouffe 9/15/92 (22)
Nirra Fields 12/3/93 (20)
Kia Nurse 2/22/96 (18)

Nirra's the 2nd-youngest player on the team, and 5 years younger than the average Canadian National Team member. So no, ESPN was not wrong in describing UCLA's Nirra Fields as "one of the youngest players on Canada's national team".

Go Bruins.

I think they changed that because I checked after reading boontonbomber's comment and I'm pretty certain it said THE youngest.

They corrected the article after comments were made that that pointed out that not only was the statement about Ms. Fields being the youngest member of the Canadian National team incorrect, the photo was also someone other than Ms. Fields.

If you look at the time of the update and the time the article was noted on the BY, you will see that the update was made several hours later.

and they're gonna tell me no one reads the Boneyard

Okay, I get it. My bad.

Well, everyone knows Canadians prefer to keep a low profile.
