UCLA lost today to Washington State 67=63, Sanford leading at the half easily.

That PAC 12 is pretty tough. Take a day off if you want at your own risk.

Tough doesn’t begin to describe it. With their sophomore (a freshman all star out) for the season, a top rebounder starter out for the game, and their leading scorer fouling out with 2 minutes 20, Colorado was behind 25 points at end of third, went on a 17-0 run, cut the lead to four before losing by 8, virtually all of Stanford’s 4th quarter points came on free throws as Colorado deliberately fouled over and over. Colorado as usual shot poorly from the foul line. The come away? While it is true that Colorado has had Stanford frequently on the ropes in past four meetings, the Cardinal is still a decent team but is much weaker than UConn. South Carolina on Monday may well tell the story.

Wow, Stanford was rolling, up 52-29 with 8:30 to play.
Then over the next 6 minutes, Colorado went on a 20-1 run to cut it to 4!

Card held on 62-54.

We talk about UConn’s slow starts but how about Stanford playing a Colorado team missing two out of the five starters who beat them a couple of weeks ago? They could only manage 14 points in first quarter.

Washington State has a good team although their record (9-6/8-6) does not reflect it. Two of their last five losses have been in overtime. Two of those losses were back to back losses to conference leader Stanford (16-2/13-2).
