I'm kind of surprised Boley and Harper didn't make the team...but what do I know.

Happy for Rico, expecting big things from her this season.

Guess Geno and his disciple Jennifer Rizzotti don't have anything against Lady Vol players as Lady Vol fans have surmised. :)

The USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team Committee, which is chaired by Jennifer Rizzotti of George Washington University, issued the invitations. The USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team Committee, which will select the 12-member roster for the U23 national team, also includes 2008 Olympic gold medalist Kara Lawson Barling as the athlete representative, and NCAA representatives Karen Aston of University of Texas, Tonya Cardoza of Temple University, who was a member of the 1987 U.S. Olympic Festival East Team, and Wes Moore of North Carolina State.

Just noticed this from USA BB.

The 12-member team that will represent the USA in an inaugural U23 Four Nations Tournament for college-aged women this summer in Tokyo, Japan, is expected to be announced on Aug. 4. Players selected to the team will continue training at the USOTC through Aug. 7 before departing for Tokyo. Athletes eligible for this team must be U.S. citizens who are 23 years old or younger and currently are freshmen, sophomores or juniors in college.

Majority of team are Seniors or is USA BB saying since Fall Semester hasn't started players are still Juniors. How does Mercedes fit the criteria.

Looks like a good team.
It's a good team but would be great if they had left off the Tennessee players. Just kidding stwainfan. They should be hard to beat if they play team ball.

While Gabby, Azura', KLS and Napheesa won't be traveling with the U23 USA team. Kia will be in Argentina with Canada's Sr Team.

Canada's Sr Team and FIBA Tournament: Canada Basketball

The senior team looks to qualify for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in 2018 in Spain. This is an important tournament for Canada to qualify for the World Cup and ultimately the 2020 Olympics. The Top 3 teams from this tournament will qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Canada's tournament is significantly more important then the U23 Tournament.

We could say if we were mean and poor sports. the only reason Lady Vols players made the team is because UConn is traveling to Italy and not particpating. :)

No one on the list is a surprise. I would have loved to see Stevens, Wilson and Brown on floor at the same time-serious match up nightmare. That being said Billings, Wilson and Brown is also be very tough to beat.

This team should beast in the tourney

I'm mildly surprised by the selection of Monique Billings over Kristine Anigwe.
