Two intriguing post players in that group are 2021 Aaronette Vonleh and 2022 Lauren Betts.

Vonleh is just 6’3”, but has a power body and a soft touch. Ranked the #1 post by Hoopgurlz.

Betts is 6’7” and will likely be on the radar of every coach sooner rather than later. Could be the next McCowan/Griner type player.

One thing that stood out - lots of players from all over the country and ONLY 2 from Texas. We all know how hard it is to get kids out of Texas... Georgia, Nevada, New England, Ohio, Florida and maybe a few other states represented with a few kids.

Yes, it looked like a nice distribution of states. Probably the way it should be.

This stood out to me:

Jennah Isai (Valley Vista H.S./Surprise, Ariz.)

I think I've seen a video of her. Pretty advanced. Or maybe she has a sister?

If I’m not mistaken she will turn 17 before this year ends which means she wasn’t eligible or she just declined the invite...

I had never even heard of Feagin. Is she on UConn's radar?

Ayanna Patterson ('22) apparently is. There was some word that Kiki Rice ('22)--who had a huge freshmen season--is as well. Haven't seen it confirmed though.

And I have a suspicion that Okikola "Kiki" Iriafen ('22) might be since her AAU program began following Jasmine Lister on Instagram after Boo Williams, and Iriafen is their highest-rated talent.

I think it's a bit of a myth that it's hard to get Texas HS recruits to leave Texas. Of the top 15 2019 recruits from Texas as ranked by PN, only 4 are staying in state. It may be that UConn has seemed to have a hard time recruiting Texas kids, but I doubt that it's because they are less willing than other kids to leave their home state.

  • Jennah Isai (Valley Vista H.S./Surprise, Ariz.)

My mistake on Sania Feagin. No UCONN interest as far as I can tell.

Complete Trial Roster. Have to download the PDF to see the list of players. You do have a Sort Option. USA Women's U16 National Team Finalists
Interesting side note. Looks like Carla Berube's tenure with USA basketball might be over. She was not selected to Coach U19 team that job went to Jeff. The new coach at U16 is Mark Campbell from Union. I kind of like the idea of someone with UCONN connections getting in early on evaluating these kids. That USA basketball U16 pipeline has served UCONN pretty well.
