Say, I think I know her . . .
Say, I think I know her . . .
Yes I do.... and I can see also her as the possible #1 pick in the 2018 WNBA draft. But I admit... Im a tad bit biased.... 6'6" players with her skills and potential are hard to find.
If I remember correctly Mitchell took a lot more shoots than KML did.At Connecticut, team and individual records are set by the flow of the game. How often do they take over 20 shots in a game?Maya More could have had over 4500 pts maybe 5000!Taurasi could have averaged 30 pts a game her sophomore year if she wanted to(Sue Bird in Sports Illustrated 2002 NC issue)!Just one of the reasons Connecticut is the best!Team First! If Mitchell stays healthy and eligible, she may destroy KML's career trey mark. KML was around 493...after one year Mitchell was at 125, I think.
I posted before I saw your thread.Definately a volume shooter!I don't believe Kelsey Mitchell tried out for the U19. She tried out for the World University Games and Pam American team and was not selected. Confusing because the trials were at the same place at the same time which was what allowed MoJeff to meet up with Dangerfield. Kelsey Mitchell is a volume shooter-not quite elite yet IMO-she is defensively indifferent as they say. She from the Paul Westhead school of basketball: If I get more shot attempts than you I'll beat you: Three point shot attempt is better than 2 point shot attempt.

I believe that Mitchell finished the season with 127 treys, which surpassed the old NCAA record, held by two players, by 1. At that rate, she could surpass 500 in her career. Kaleena passed Laurie Koehn's prior record and finished with 398. Kelsey shot a staggering 336 treys last year. She's on pace to shoot over 1,300 in her career, which would shatter the old record. By comparison, our esteemed "ballhog chick" launched only 811 treys. Kaleena shot 890. Kelsey is the definition of a volume shooter. If Mitchell stays healthy and eligible, she may destroy KML's career trey mark. KML was around 493...after one year Mitchell was at 125, I think.
Again - I think her numbers could quite significantly decrease with a better and healthier team around her. If she continues at the current rate she should smash all the records, but if that happens I suspect it will reflect a less successful team success rate.I believe that Mitchell finished the season with 127 treys, which surpassed the old NCAA record, held by two players, by 1.
