Tyler has earned ALL of the respect from his coaches for how he’s handled everything. Both he and Akok obviously had season ending injuries, but Tyler kind of got overlooked because of the timing and the fact that it happened in practice instead of a game. Rehabbing a significant injury is always a tough and potentially isolating thing, primarily doing it away from your teammates and coaches in the midst of a pandemic is next level tough. He attacked the process and that did not go unnoticed.

IMO.. The 2019 roster was nowhere as deep as the 2020 roster appears to be.. If Tyler Phommachanh wants PT.. He'll have to become more of a two way player.. Otherwise.. The Young Bucks/New Guys will be competing with him for minutes.. If he can establish himself ..as he was beginning to last season... prior to his injury.. He could get some NBA interest because he has the talent.. Hopefully his rehab work will pay dividends for him and the team.. Easy kid to root for.. His last dance as a senior..

Y'all get so worked up over semantics. Let's just throw the ball up and run the other team into the ground with all the options we seem to have this year.

Maybe another Steve Novak? A dedicated outside shooter? Time will tell. More likely if his D improves.

He could be a floor spacer even if for designated minutes at the right time during the game.

When it comes to Tyler Phommachanh and rebounding, look at film from last two seasons. Quite often when the opposing team shoots, Polley would go towards halfcourt and start filling a lane for a fast break or sprint to the corner for a corner 3 in transition. If I could notice that, I'm positive the coaches could see it and I believe it's what the coaches wanted. I don't think the coaches have had as much of an expectation for Tyler Phommachanh to be rebounding more as much as us fans do. With newer players and new positions and responsibilities Tyler Phommachanh may be asked to bang inside a bit more and grab boards. Fortunately with this team there appears to be enough talent to bring in another player if the starter isn't performing at the level expected.
Those transitions threes are back breakers . That’s how you break open a close game or quickly comeback.
