Even lower scoring that Ct SC

I think the over/under for the NC might be 100.

While I root for Vic, I don’t think TX can beat SC 3/4 times, so am leaning towards the Bruins. I’ve thought they were the best team much of the year. Lots of experience and leadership.

I haven't watched Texas much this year. I think I blanked out Vic's Mississippi St. days. I do not like his brand of basketball. If you can call it that. Just grab, shove, hack constantly and call it great defense. He's certainly had a very fine career, but I'm not sorry to see them eliminated. Congrats to UCLA. I keep reminding myself I don't have to root for other Pac 12 schools, because there is not Pac 12, but when it comes down to it I'd still rather see teams from out West win for the most part.

Congrats to UCLA! Fortunately, this game offered more endgame theatre than UConn/SC. 😁

Betts played with tremendous poise in this game, hitting important shots, passing out of double and triple teams, and of course the block on the Booker breakaway. She even defended well out on the perimeter!

Kiki Rice closed out the game, handling the press and making free throws.

UCLA did still try to give it away, stumbling against the TX press, but got it right in the last 60 seconds.

Good day for unders:

SC 62 UCLA 51 UConn 48 Texas 44

How hard is it to inbound the ball? UCLA having all kinds of troubles doing that.
Against Texas, very. They’re so good pressuring

That was unfortunately a very boring game minus the almost-comeback at the end. Was rooting for Texas because I like a lot of their players (Rori, Lee, Booker). But sheesh Madison, that was a rough performance. Bad day for #35 scorers yesterday

Will definitely be watching the title game and will definitely be rooting for UCLA

if u want to grow wbb it would be a good idea consider how the game is refereed
the amount of contact allowed both on and off the ball
was bizaare
if not the final four was pretty much unwatchable
Right on. Almost hoping for bad FF tv ratings so the powers at be wake up. The rugby game last night was a set back for WBB.

Disappointment in style of play would only show up in the longer term.

Ratings are largely determined by 2 factors—initial viewership and the closeness of the game (viewers add/drop as it continues). Some folks might drift away or not stop on the channel if the game is boring, but I’m not sure enough to be measurable.

Now the big question is, since our beloved UConn program is not in the Finals will anyone watch the Finals? As a basketball fan, I will be watching.
South Carolina has a strong following. There will definitely be an audience.

Not so much UCLA
And the less than scintillating semis prob don’t help.

Being on ABC will help a bunch. Being on Easter afternoon will hurt a smidge.

It’s too bad ABC hasn’t gone to a prime time game yet.
I'm wondering if just maybe, a chance to win a Championship will be enough to pull in some of the LA audience that doesn't usually watch women's basketball.

FWIW, with changes in Nielsen methodology over the years, Easter has become a ratings goldmine, especially later on Sunday afternoon. Will be interesting to see if Easter delivers for the WBB Championship, and boosts ratings above 2025. So far, even with methodology changes this year that increase measured viewership, Sweet 16 and Elite Eight WBB ratings are down from 2025.

("Easter, once a ratings drag, has become a viewer-rich holiday in the Nielsen out-of-home era, delivering the most-watched opening round NBA playoff game in 20 years (2022), the most-watched final round of the Masters in four (2023), and the largest Elite Eight audience in five (2024).")
