I can grudgingly accept that he sat against lefty starters the last 10+ days of the season but did he really need to dir against Cueto the other day?
I watched him play yesterday and he was struggling to run to 1B due to hamstring injury.
It was mentioned that he was grabbing at his hamstring the day before Cueto's game too.
He played today and hit a double and drew 2 BB's and finished at .316.
But Arraez doesn't draw nearly as many BB's as Judge.
Judge drew 111 BB's in 2022 compared to Arraez who drew 50 BB's.
Judge sure does strike out a lot more too swinging for the fences with 175 K's vs. 43 K's for Arraez.
Arraez played in 13 fewer games than Judge but only had 4 fewer hits overall than Judge.
That shows that Judge was probably swinging for the fences trying to break the AL HR record.
It seems that Judge's strategy was not to make winning the batting title a priority but to break the HR record instead.
They both got what they wanted and no one wins the Triple Crown this year.
