‘Twas the night before game day, when all through the house
not a creature was stirring, not even a spouse.
The cooler and carriage were all packed with care,
in hopes a great victory will be ours to share.
While the neighbors were nestled all snug in their beds,
and visions of who-knows-what danced in their heads.
I, in my brain, could think nothing but this,
that soon I’d be back in my game day bliss.
When out of my daydream, or so it it did seem,
daybreak arrived and and my countenance did beam.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
tore open a beverage, and counted my cash.
The dream state continued, and I'd time to reflect,
how this year’s Huskies could a dynasty erect.
Then much to my delight what should then appear,
but a fellow BY Husky, with a Go Huskies! cheer.
With that little old driver, for surely he was,
we made for the Rent with nary a pause.
More rapid than eagles, did fellow tailgaters arrive
and the celebration began, how great to be alive.
Great food and beverage we consumed en masse,
then off to our seats, not to sit on our ass.
Go BS, and NT, and AK we cheered,
to the goal line six times, not two as we feared.
Ah, but daylight soon broke, and with it my dream,
it’s now game day, it’s game day, and I feel I could scream.
It’s take care of business, this time on the field,
to no one this year will our Husky team yield.
Go Huskies!!!
