Geno post-game: I'm never surprised when Saniya plays great offense. I'm surprised when she plays great defense.

Butler has made two more foul-line jumpers tonight. 2-for-4, 4 points, 3 rebounds for her through 3 quarters

Loved her 1st shot. She turned noticed she had a "mouse" (mouse in the house) on her. Calmly kept the ball high and took and stuck the feather 10-15 foot shot.

I was standing away from the tv and thought it was Stewart taking that shot. Butler has a nice soft touch to her shot.

Katie Lou is getting more comfortable. Glad to see her shots falling tonight. Still needs to work on the D. Small guards are difficult for her to stay with. Then she is 6'3". Her passes are so crisp that there's no chance to intercept them. Go Katie Lou. Go UConn.

Did you see the two she hit. The jump shot where she drove/ drifted left and puled up and stuck the jumper? Wasn't any set shot. Or a full speed straight ahead pull up jumper. It was about three dribbles, and stuck the jumper. Awesome.

Gabby also great great to see last two games she stuck some beaut jumpers.

Also worth mentioning Gabby's FT% is now up to 72% I believe they said on the broadcast.

That was so sweet. So effortless!

A nice game. A few game points, and other interesting items:
  • Butler fielded only one ball with her bad hand, and pulled it back several times instead of catching the ball. Mentally she does not appear to be there, yet; with an injury like hers, that is to be expected. No worries with the rest of her game.
  • No Bon-Bon, but she looked fine in warmups. Got beaned with a loose ball; she's just not used to warming the bench.
  • GREAT game by "Tommy" Chong! Next year is looking brighter every day.
  • Geno applauded the effort of Courtney Ekmark a couple of times. He doesn't do that often.
  • Nurse had an off game, but it didn't stop her. Good sign for a shooter.
  • Tuck was...Tuck. The Silent Assassin strikes again!
  • The crowd is FINALLY getting the hang of "Lllllooooooooouuuu" for KLS. We should be ready come AAC tournament time.
  • Who enjoys running the three-pointer high-five line more, Pulido or Stewart?
  • Ted "Big Cat" Plawecki was in the house! No Hat, but he says he will wear it to some more games, this year.
  • Anyone seen Carol, the Jonathan Puppet lady? I haven't seen her at very many games, this year.

I am sure Lou is happy about her 4 baskets tonight. However, I am sure she is real happy she had 5 assists and 4 rebounds.

I'm sure Geno was happy about more than just the baskets too.

Auriemma was also very pleased with the fact that Katie Lou Samuelson contributed 14 points, four rebounds and five assists. Samuelson also shot 5-for-8 from the field including 4-for-6 from 3-point range.

"She did a whole bunch of things other than just be a shooter," Auriemma said. "Because of that, she made a bunch of shots. When you are good as she is, it is just a matter of time. I like the fact that she had five assists tonight and got four rebounds and touched the ball a lot other than just shooting it. To me, the more of those things that happen the more comfortable she is going to get and the better she is going to play. Tonight was a good breaking out game for her."

Natalie continues to demonstrate a smooth, quick shot from top of the key. She gets tied up too easily for a big, though that may have to do with her healing hand. Wish she'd manage to just keep it high and dish it. Missed a couple of chippies, but everyone will do that now and then. I like her work ethic very much; she hustles. Pleasure to see KLS working hard - very nice passing and "the wettest stroke in basketball" is coming back! Collier didn't have a good first half but didn't sulk - just get coming back, and it paid off. Very even keeled player.

Saniya should be more than pleased. Happy for her.

Meghan is hallucinating again with her statement that Morgan's first basket of game was offensive foul. Geez !
No Meghan was right, Tuck cleared space with her elbow. Doesn't always get called but in reality it is an offensive foul.
