Have a fun time. I need to go to New Orleans one of these days. I moved to Atlanta and never been to New Orleans. I'm not really a party type guy unless it is a Uconn celebration so didn't really see the appeal of it.
Music. Food. History. Art.

Even people who aren't party types usually have a lot of fun there.

Jeez all this crime talk please don't scare the fans. Everyone who goes to NO doesn't get murdered, robbed or beaten down.

Street smarts, not venturing around drunk, and staying alert is the trick. Not fool proof but certainly works for me.

Please fans get to the game and have no fear!

Music recommendations for those in town tonight:

Washboard Chaz Blues Trio, Blue Nile, 7:00

Jon Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen, Chickie Wah Wah, 9:00

Glen David Andrews, Richard Fiske's, 9:00

Shotgun Jazz Band, Three Muses, 9:00

Lynn Drury, Old Arabi Bar, 9:00

Sunpie and the Louisiana Sunspots, Dos Jefes, 10:00

101 Runners feat. Big Chief Juan Pardo of the Golden Comanches, original members of Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Raymond Weber and June Yamagishi, and 3 Pc. Spicy perform Mardi Gras Tribute to Professor Longhair, Tipitina’s
, 10:00 pm

Little Freddie King, d.b.a., 11:00

Soul Rebels, Prytania Bar, 11:00

Personally I'd be thinking Washboard Chaz>Jon Cleary>Soul Rebels. Good food at Chickie Wah Wah too, especially the smoked wings. The Cleary show would definitely be my number one choice given the artist and the venue. Good taps too; should have either NOLA Hopitoulas IPA or Tin Roof Juke Joint IPA on tap, and both are very good.

Agreed. Not sure I'm in a big rush to ever go back, but as a history and food buff, the place is fascinating.
