This is the least amount of composure I've seen UConn show in the offensive end since the Florida State game. Geno's is right. You can't force the ball into coverage. It cost Collier her 3rd foul and it just leads to TO's.

UConn scored 3 pts in the last 7:22 minutes of the 2Q.
It will be a long afternoon here in San Diego. It is raining outside.

Full court pressure will cause Tulane to rattle in second half.
Pheesa should ignore her foul trouble and we'll be okay.
And no Butler until the last 2 minutes.

Huskies shooting 32%, TU shooting 20%. Not a pretty game

They're still playing defense. Nobody is beating UConn scoring 18 points in a half.

Defense to the rescue

Except Stanford 2010.

I have seen Lou go into the paint about 5-6 times.
Dangerfield passed and #3 intercepted.
Lou finally got the ball and #15 fouled, oops, I mean blocked her shot.

I wonder if the coaches are pushing Saniya to shoot more threes. Seems like in the last two or three conference games she has shot more of them before garbage time. Could be my imagination. Or it could be that it's Geno's point that Tulane is packing the lane.

I thought her first two attempts were good choices, the fourth was sort of neutral. The first was right on but long, which is the best way to miss, I'm told. I question the third. But all in all, it's good to see her with the confidence to take them.

Now if she'll only pull off two or three blow-bys.

For me the first half was difficult to watch. Lou's shooting mechanics look fine, but her shots aren't falling. The team, as Geno said, rejected the outside shot andtried to force the ball inside. Then grew frustrated when it failed. It resulted in Collier twice drawing offensive fouls because of it. The effort however was there. The execution wasn't.
