Tues/Weds Tournament Games

Next game in the NCAAT is a Big East game, too. This time the Big East team, Creighton, will be the defacto road team playing Louisville in Lexington
Will not be as friendly as a crowd as people think.

Adam Lefkoe just cuts off Jay Wright while he's in the middle of his thoughts and then swings it to Seth Davis

Vandy, Georgia, OU and Texas are all wildly overrated. They didn’t do anything but lose to good teams. That’s my view and I’m sticking with it.
Well, UGA beat Florida. We'll see if the two-time defending champs can match that "nothing" (not that I won't be finding that Georgia victory comforting on Sunday morning).

Xavier can win more games if they show what they did in the second half tonite right from the start.

Maybe because they're playing each other?

A lot of teams had mid season injuries that hurt their regular season but X had to be one of the most stifled by injuries. They are better than an 11 when healthy just like UConn is better than an 8. Texas also had some injuries and they have a crap coach, but they have talent. They win solely on talent. So when they are clicking they look good as individuals. If they had a good coach they would be a 3/4 seed.

Not sure if Moser is as bad as Terry but OU fans seem to hate him. Not sure if that’s due to his coaching or rumors of him possibly bolting OU.

I was working late and missed all the action but holy longhorn. Texas with more money than anyone can't put away Xavier. Glorious. Football drives the bus but no bus is as pretty as the basketball Lambo.

Let's give props to the Best Team in the great state of Ohio. Eat 'em if you got 'em!

All posts were very sporty comments. While I did watch the game, the deep game flavor came through from our posts. Thanks!

Texas continues to do the least with the most. If the end game is two conferences with 80 percent of the bids say bye bye. Squawk box this morning was talking about all the newbie schools, not the 13th team from the southleast conference

I was shocked that Texas has made 31 of the past 36 tournaments. I've always considered them a middle of the road program.

I really do not get the fascination with a big win or two. Seton Hall beat UConn. They did in 2023 too. Were they good? Don't you need to look at the details? It was in Athens. Florida had a horrible shooting night and UGA shot 54% for the game and 55% from 3. Built a 26 point lead and almost blew it.

If UConn makes it to the Florida game, they are gonna need some help. Florida is going to have to have an off shooting night, and UConn's big 3 are gonna have to shoot it well. If both teams show up with their A game, Florida is gonna win.. Nothing against UConn, but that's just the fact. Certainly, the Georgia game is an example of 2 things--Florida is not a great defensive team and they can have an off shooting night. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, UConn has a tough game tomorrow night, and they can certainly lose if they don't come to play hard and with emotion on both ends of the floor.

UConn is certainly the underdog. Florida had like 15 steals in that UGA game, that's how they came back. That worries me for sure. It's not a team I wanted UConn to face. That said, I'm sure UConn isn't a #8 seed that Florida wants to face. Great coach, better talent than our record reflects, knows how to win in March. If Florida plays an A game, not much UConn can do. Against UGA I think it was Georgia A+ game and Florida D+ game. UConn is a lot better than UGA. If Florida gives us a B- and UConn an A, we can win.

I'm hearing that Terry is likely to be canned and Miller is a candidate for successor

What is Xavier's prize for beating Texas? Losing their coach to Texas
At that time, I was told if Terry didn't have the run he had, Del Conte would've hired Xavier coach Sean Miller.

In fact, a source told me if Miller and Xavier had beaten Terry and Texas in a 2023 Sweet 16 matchup in Kansas City, Miller would've been hired at Texas - not Terry. So, the irony of Wednesday night's First Four matchup of Miller and Xavier against Terry and Texas - again, in the NCAA postseason - possibly having more significance than simply the outcome of the game is almost unbelievable because Miller is still a leading candidate to replace Terry.

The Texas team is not that strong, and I would have expected X to have an easier time with them.
Tre Johnson was by far the best player on the floor last night.
X is Dr Jeckyl and Mr. H on defense. Sometimes they play like world beaters and other times, like UConn - all hands and arms and no feet.
The team that wanted it more however won the game. Terry exudes zero excitement or confidence from the sidelines
Because X is a NBE team, I hope they continue to rep the league well, but I still feel Miller should never be allowed on the bench of any basketball team - he's a scumbag cheat who was blatantly caught with his hand in the cookie jar and blamed it on everyone else but the person who was recorded by the FBI on tape.

So you want to have it all ways. They didn't beat anyone but the (at the time, iirc) #1 ranked team in the country but that doesn't count because it doesn't fit my narrative.

Oh and they beat the Big East regular reason and tournament champs (something UConn couldn't do on two opportunities) but that doesn't count either because reasons. (Nor does Kentucky, I'm sure.)

I am not arguing that they are a great team. But you can't say they did nothing when they beat two top ten teams along the way (and a fair number of games against teams in the tournament). They belong in the tournament.
