Line to harass Tuberville and the Bearcats, "How's the bathroom?"

I think that Tuberville is a dick, or coaching at Texas Tech must really suck

You can probably count the number of FBS head coaches that aren't sleezebags on one hand. The only revelation to me in the last few years is that I thought Edsall was one of those guys when he clearly is not.

One of the other recruits @ the dinner has a UConn Offer. Sunny Odogwu 6-8 307lb OT from MD.

Worse that would happen up here is GDL falls asleep in his garlic mashed potatoes.

You could use one hand and still probably have enough fingers left to hail a cab. I used to think college coaches cared more about the kids, but they're really not much different than the NFL coaches. They may be worse b/c at least the NFL coaches only responsibility is to win games, not mold men.

Have the details of the contract come out yet? Obviously Cinci has been a great stepping stone to better jobs, but it's still surprising to see a "BCS/Big5" coach leave to go to a BE school. F Tommy Tuberville. He was middle of the road at TT and the fact that he doesn't have the balls or the give-a-damn to tell his recruits/dinner guests he's leaving says all I need to know about this no class, self-centered dirt bag. Why is it so hard for adults to act like adults and take some responsibility for their actions?

right on JS. . . .not to defend Edsall but there was a pollyanna-ish overreaction when he bailed up here. Unfortunately the real world rules of changing jobs do not apply in big-time college football.

Tubs is the kind of coach who fans love twice. The first time is when he is hired and has some unexpected wins. The second time is when he leaves. Unfortunately he usually leaves with the overall program in worse shape than when he got there.

I've been to Lubbock. Got out of my car to visit a client and was almost blown over by the relentless wind. When he opened the door, I basically stumbled in and said "Wow, that wind is unreal, to which he replied, *, that ain't nothin but our normal little breeze".

As they say there is nothing between the panhandle and north pole but barbed wire.

Knowing what we've seen from UConn last 24 months... How could anyone harp on Edsall's departure - he took a lifeboat off the Titanic.

Interesting circle . .Edsall leaves in part because he didn't want to deal with Hathaway anymore (think their frosty relationship played a big role in RE leaving), Hathaway hires PP, Herbst fires JH because of incompetence greatly reflected in PP hire (pissing off major donor), and now the guy who replaced JH to clean things up for whatever reason can't/won't pull the trigger on getting rid of JH's mistake, which devalued UConn football, which for time being is keeping UC out of the big boy club.

Does UConn have a coach who is winning, who is moving the program in the right direction? Then how can anyone be critical of another program and another coach. I'd take Tuberville, Rich Rod, Petrino, Mike Price (formerly the HC of Alabama), Butch Davis or anyone else who can get the UConn program restarted and moving in the direction of a better conference and the Top 25.

No kidding. When Randy left they acted like it was a first grade teacher who simply abandoned his kids, leaving them on the bus while on a field trip. All attention should have immediately been on who was available to succeed Randy. Any boo-hooing about mean 'ole Randy not having the decency to share with the "boys" before the announcement grossly ignores big time college football wheelings and dealings.
