Once Hartford settled down, after all this was their first game, they played zone & UConn had trouble with it. An early season game and UConn won, but they didn’t do good job penetrating the zone, or what do you think? RJ did best job getting inside the zone, but there’s no Taliek playing who could really get inside & distribute (good thing RJ doesn’t shoot like Taliek).
Best players were RJ, Bouknight, Sanogo, Martin, Whaley. Polley didn’t play well, and no one else on UConn really impressed me last night.
I think Martin is going to be great contributor- he is strong defender and really helps on defense switches & rebounds. If his offense develops, all the better.
UConn had too many dumb fouls, but it was a tight whistle by refs too.
