My first thought was he should be fired, but then I thought I'm inclined to give someone a 2nd (and last) chance. So if there was sincere contrition, significant counseling, community service, and an understanding that he's used all his mulligans, it could be ok to keep him. And actually a good teaching tool of the penalties and remorse that come with screwing up. He's incredibly lucky he didnt kill someone.Major mistake if all he gets is a slap on the wrist. Had a childhood friend killed by a drunk driver and I’m still open to forgiveness as hard as I find that, but not without the person facing meaningful accountability and seeking real help.
