I have doubts that Reibe is a contributor year 1. The S&C is lacking, and he's inconsistent. I think this year taught us you can't rely on non-5* freshman to be contributors day 1.
No doubt about the 4* players. Shoot there are some 5* players that come into the college game and are overwhelmed. It is going to be interesting now that 5th yr senior will be more rare, we may see more of an impact.

But with the portal there are probably 50 4* high schoolers with one year college game experience who will be way better players than most if not all 4* coming out of high school. Then you have the 3* juniors who are coming off very good sophomore seasons that are better.

Basically with NIL and the money these kids are paid why not stay four years. You will make more money with a very good NIL deal than you will on a two way contract and I see the NIL $$ expanding at a faster rate than the two way NBA contracts which only change during the renewal of the CBA between the players and owners.

NIL is just how many billionaire alumni do you have to pay the kids. BYU and Utah (more so BYU) will be able to field dominant teams year in and year out because where they are getting their money is from a source that has more money than most countries.

If the state of Utah became the hoops capitol of the world because of money I’d have to find another sport.

I wonder what Mahaney's defensive rating was coming out of StM - can anyone find that?
It was 1.51 last year (0.83 this year for reference. Basically on par with last year's version of Jaylin Stewart for UConn

Danny needs to hit big with portal this year. This team definitely needs more athleticism. The PG position is also uncertain. Nowell is too small and not quick or skilled enough.
I wish we'd make a late run at Nate Amend.

Just wondering if anyone who watched the CCSU loss in their conference Championship noticed a Freshman Guard from St. Francis. We play on a different level for sure but the young man looked like he has some potential and physically overmatched most of the other guys on the court. Will be a good test for him in the Tourney.

Juan Cranford Jr.

I covered the game and put him as the tournament MVP. Tons of potential, for sure, I don’t see a UConn caliber guy.

Trilly said he’s hearing smoke about Braden Smith yesterday. We’d be insane to not reach out, you surround that guy with defense.
Would be wild but have brought this up multiple times this year - he is a prime candidate to cash in as a non NBA profile. If Purdue can fork up the $$, he kind of owes it to himself to test. Would be such the hit to Purdue, and a true kick in the nuts of the reality of today’s landscape.

I wonder if Adam Njie is looking at the portal, and if there would be interest. 6’3”, super quick, decent shooter.
