I think a good move for everyone. I don't get too excited by transfers, especially ones that are losing playing time.

..............and yes I know it's FSU and the kid was recruited with a bizillion stars and offers.

Let's see what happens on the field.

I feel what you are saying but this kid performed from day 1 at FSU...and they bring in kids that are just as good if not better than him. He's actually played downs at the FBS level unlike that circus we experienced a few years back when Edsall was here (witht the 4 star DL recruit who never played a down for us)... Gotta feeling this kid's taking somebody's spot in the starting line up this Fall if he's declared eligible...
 
This is fantastic news. It's positive both in terms of landing the player and his eventual contributions, but also in terms of sending a signal that UConn football is not dead and isn't going away. We needed a shot in the arm.

Exactly, he played as a true FR for a National Championship team. A team that recruit 4 and 5 star LB's and for that reason I'm not discouraged that he lost his starting spot to Northrup another 4 star LB out of FL. Levenberry knows what it feels like to win and we can use a player like him.

The fact that he played as a true freshman on a National Championship team and even considered UConn should hopefully be a sign that Diaco's recruiting abilities are not to be overlooked. I'm not saying that he's going to have the same success with 2 stars that Edsall did but it's encouraging nonetheless.

Keeping things current, it should be noted that UConn's first commit in this class went to the same high school as Levenberry. No doubt that Levenberry played a role in getting him to Storrs.

Great having connections in the VA.
 
Any news on E.J. out of camp? Obviously sitting out this year, but I'm surprised we haven't heard more about our biggest offseason acquisition

You have to sit through an ad, and then wait for the camera to catch up with him (about the 0:20-0:25 mark), but this clip shows off some of his impressive athletic ability:

Would definitely be nice to hear about him... but I think, because his game will be irrelevant to what's going to happen this upcoming season, it's probably a good idea not to indulge on him as much... He's probably not getting as much burn in these practices anyways because we have to figure out who's going to be on the depth chart starting 9/3/15.

One thing that I wouldn't be surprised about is how much mention he'll get as a scout team player throughout the season.
 
another transfer that seems to fall into this category as well is TE Billy Williams.. Excited about what he'll bring to our offense come 2016 too... he's played in Verducci's system before so one would think he'd provide some instant help next year on O as well.
