Tourney - Round 3

Kiki could've all but iced it but bricked 2 FTs. Brutal game for her.

Iriafen stock is wayy down. Every time I watch USC play, she never pops on my screen. She’s a good post, but idk about top 5 pick in the draft

I really like Sundell. Seems like she's never gotten enough attention or credit her entire career.
One of my faves. I was trying to think of a good player comp. 6'2 but looks so natural at point. I was thinking of Rachel Theriot a few years back from Nebraska. Although I think Sundell is still a bit taller and I think a tad bit better overall. I hope some team drafts her and she gets the opportunity to compete for a spot. She barely got to play with a healthy Ayoka Lee. I think she would've gotten a lot more accolades if that would've been the case.

I was hopeful this would be the group that would get Notre Dame back to the Final Four and it’s a shame a team this talented and experienced couldn’t make it there. I do believe Miles and Citron will be WNBA All-Stars at some point in their careers and to think they never advanced beyond the Sweet Sixteen is a disappointment.

It’s tough to see where ND goes from here. Hidalgo is as good a player as any to build around, but the supporting case of Koval/Watson/Bransford/Prosper isn’t top 25 worthy alone IMO. Ivey is a young coach with many years left but at this juncture it’s hard to see a better opportunity to go deep than ND had this year.

Meanwhile that 2023 class ranking..
Sorry not following. They were ranked 10th. That class included Marshall, Samuels and Gayle who recovered from life threatening injuries.

Marshall has been a solid starter for most of the season. She helped make things challenging for Lee and almost had a double double. Samuels may not play significant minutes, but she's had impact in other games on occasion.

Very nice, balanced attack by USC last night. As great as Watkins is, there is a lot to be said for spreading the floor and getting everyone involved in the offense. While I don’t believe this USC team can beat UConn on Monday night, they won’t be pushovers either.

TBH, the losses by Maryland, UNC, NC State, Tenn, and Kansas State seemed to lean towards the inability to keep composure and close out games. At this point in the tourney, there is no room for mental errors, and in some cases, bad and/or an absence of coaching.

Well, I will be pretty surprised if either South Carolina or UCLA loses today.
