After the Kansas game, we will have had 8 days to rest, recharge, reconfigure and readapt. A win and no injuries are givens , so her are my other top 3 things against Texas:

1) Aaliyah to not force her shots and moves, and to look to pass when she is not open or in good position.

2) Aubrey to have another complete Aubrey-type game.

3) The freshmen to play smart, under control and not lose their man on defense.

There are many more but I think these 3 things, with all else being equal, will serve us well. What are yours?

1. Aaliyah has no effects from the elbow she took to the ear
2. At least 1 of the newbies has double digit scoring, rebounding and/or assists
3. The refs call the game like 2 good teams are playing, not just the good home team

1) Caroline, even if for just a few minutes each half

2) Assists on more than half the baskets

3) UConn handles the Texas defense. If they look good against a team coached by the Secretary of Defense, I'll feel much better about them going forward.

1). Intensity on defense

2). Shooting with confidence. Don't just settle for the midrange or 3 ball. Attack the basket. Put some pressure on the Texas defenders and the refs.

3). Playing with confidence. Every pass, every shot, and every offensive possession just play with confidence.

1. Some outside shooting success, from Paige... AND a few people not named " Paige"
2. with a success #1, above, Aaliyah Edwards if freed up to do her thing. She has been
doubled and tripled teamed in recent games when the opponent's "BIGS" have collapsed
down on her.
3. TENACIOUS team play... with defense and all those " little things" that come from HUSKY
team chemistry and grit! GO HUSKIES!!!

1. Inside help for Edwards
2. Inside help for Edwards
3. Inside help for Edwards

How much offense you need to win is directly proportional to how many points you give up on defense so..
1. Play great team defense, be vocal, and switch smoothly.
2. Move the ball on offense and find the open player. Don't just cut through the middle but look for a pass and also to pass.
3. Have fun, play loose, and take it to them.

1--- Paige and Edwards to play like their past ALL-American status or better.
2--- The remainder of the team overall "shoot the ball well."
3--- Establish a team identity with something you are excellent at/striving to become excellent at.

A full court, pressing defense
Rebounding
The team playing loose and not over thinking things

1) No missed bunnies
2) No standing around in the half-court
3) Nika…SHOOT THE BALL!
And of, course, no injuries

1. KK matched up defensively against Rori Harmon.
2. Carol making some perimeter shots.
3. Amari scoring her first points of the season.

Since Carol won't be playing, I'd like to see Q make some perimeter shots.

1. Quality pressure defense
2. Must control the boards
3. At least three players in double figures

strong commit to uconn, kibitzer award to ice, geno gives happy post game interview - how hes "really really really proud" of the team
