One game at a time. These are my top 3 things for Saturday:

1) No rust with great defense, buckets in transition, overwhelming team energy and unselfish passing.

2) A much healthier and improved Paige.

3) The seniors leading the way.

A balanced team-on both offense and defense
Paige returning close to pre-injury play
Evina showing her great leadership skills coming off the bench

No real change from the last few weeks...
1. Hard cuts and crisp, accurate passes
2. All-out effort every possession no matter what the score (getting all the 50/50's, pressing, disrupting, hands in the passing lanes, REBOUNDING).
3. Do 1. and 2. and you really shouldn't need a 3, but how about great shot selection.

1. No injuries !!
2. Huskie smiles, early and at the end!
3. Everyone, all 11 Huskies, embracing their role in a
satisfying "W".

Everyone stays healthy
Good solid fundamental basketball on both ends of the court
Lots of smiles from everyone as they all get some playing time

1. Paige plays at least 28 minutes.

2. UConn up by at least 15 after the first quarter.

3. Keep Mercer under 30 points total after three.

In order and roughly 1/3 game each

1. Pedal to the metal.
2. Fine tune the waves/combinations.
3. Pre-planned organized practice drills.

Obviously Paige getting more minutes and looking more like her old self.

Execute the game plan as cleanly as possible. This game should essentially be used to practice the offensive and defensive sets needed to win the coming games.

Don't go all "4 quarters of fury".There is no need and could be a bad look as the MOV gets higher and higher. You can play a hard, honest defense without late game full court pressure. Go all out in running the offense until the score gets out of hand and then practice a zone, high-low and low-high passing and that kind of things. Reserve some energy for when you need it.

1. Defense. Nika, I'm counting on you to drive Mercer crazy with steals and broken up plays
2. Much fewer turnovers on offense
3. No injuries, please. UConn has had more than its share of them this year.

I want to see Tournament ‘ game faces’ on everyone.
Checked Mercer’s schedule.
Played some tough teams (and lost) but played them competitively.
Always need to concentrate against an opponent that has nothing to lose.
No injuries.
Smooth offensive execution.
