Top 3 Things You Want To See Satuday Against UTSA- Game is at Gampel at 3:00 pm on ABC

So here we are. Let's see what the Big Dance version of our team is. Generally, I would like to see energy, passion, and a sense of urgency. I think we will. I am profoundly jealous of all BYers who will be there for these first two games. It's a real treat. Here are my top 3 things:

1) Strong games from Serah and Jana.

2) A defense for the ages.

3) The bench exploding for points, steals and deflections.

What are yours?

I just want to see:

1. Ayanna run the court -- I love to see her run
2. Caroline sink a couple 3s
3. Keils hit a midrange jumper

I want to see that trademark Connecticut intensity and attention to detail. I'd love to see the bench get a deep run and for them to run plays and execute. I wouldn't mind seeing Kelis with a decent amount of game time. Eventually, she's gonna be pretty good and I'd like to see her get some decent burn.

Very important for Blanca to be relaxed. She is at home for 2 games so it shouldn't be an issue here.

-Azzi to get in sync shooting. For the past 2+ weeks, she has been 80% Azzi relative to her 3 point shooting. Last year, UConn buzzed the field in large part due to her shooting that took affect immediately after the opening tap. Set tone for rest of game.
-Blanca to stay in control, particularly when driving one on one to basket. She still has not learned how to fake and often gets an offensive foul by running over a smaller opponents that should not be able to guard her. We can't afford frivolost fouls in the playoffs. Will be good practice for meaningful games.

I expect the bench to see a lot of minutes. The starters (top9-10) will get their feet wet and ready for the next game.

In addition to no injuries and a win...

UCONN exploding out of the gate, showing no rust and, effectively, deciding the game in the first quarter.
Everyone on the same page, clicking on all cylinders together (particularly Serah and Jana).
I'd love for the starters to not see more than a half, but I know that Geno will have his own vision as to how best bring his team along. In Geno, we trust.

For #3, I would be ecstatic with either of the points or rebounds but would definitely be happy with the assists too. I think we will find out about her right away by the look in her eyes.

I honestly will be concentrating more on Jana and Serah today than anything else. I am looking for the eye of the tiger in both of them.
