After another very difficult BE game on Saturday, here are my top 3 things for Monday:

1) Lou and Dorka to have great games and to receive the fan adulation they deserve;

2) We do not throw the ball around again like it is a hot potato and catch, dribble and hold it securely:

3) Azzi for a minute.

That would do it for me. Still time for Baby Steps.

Simple to come up with 3 things I believe everyone would like to see for Monday's Game vs. Xavier:

1. This is essentially a "MEANINGLESS" Game for UCONN. The team has locked up the # 1 seed or the Big East Tournament, and we could also strongly suspect we shouldn't lose this game, so for # 1, HAVE FUN !!

2. Give at least 60% of the time on the floor, by position, to Ayanna, Amara and Ines, so that they can get the playing time they should receive, in preparation for the Big East and NCAA Tournaments should they be needed.

3. REST Lou Lopez Senechal, Dorka Juhasz, Nika Muhl and Aaliyah Edwards for much of the game, as much as possible. Give Ines Bettencourt time to run the show and see what she can do. Allow Ayanna Patterson time at the # 4 Power Forward Position to again, see how she performs. And, allow Amari DeBerry time at the #5 Center/Post positions.

Okay, so bracing for the incoming down votes…..

UConn still has potential to win it all in my opinion. Wide open future for this team with a few “what-ifs” and “maybes.”

What about Xavier? What have they got? That’s right. Nothing. So, tomorrow nights game is their National Championship. I expect them to be MUCH tougher than their record indicates.

1. Less turnovers
2. No injuries
3. Some Azzi

I don’t think Azzi plays before she practices and I don’t think she’s returned to practice yet.

I would like to see a lot of time for the bench though.

.-.
Subs for Dorka & Lou to give them time to heal.
No tears because there's more games to be played.
Azzi gives the nod & plays.

It's SENIOR NIGHT for Lou and DORKA, both sets of parents
are to be in the stands! We still have Tues, Wed, Thurs, Friday before Big East
Tournament. Ok, Injuries could happen... but.... ask Geno
tell them to play CAREFULLY!

When you commit 18 + turnovers and are tired on defense anyone can beat you at this level. They will be very up for the game though so we should be good, very good.

Score 90 points
Play the 4 bench players
Have some fun.

1. Big games for Lou and Dorka - go out on a high note.
2. AE plays like AA again.
3. Bench time to prepare for BET and to rest starters. And they play well enough to not require starters to have to return to win the game.

I’d like to see a convincing win for 3 reasons.

1. It can give this team some confidence heading into the postseason
2. Will allow for ample rest to the starters
3. Allows the bench players to play a bit more freely to gain some rhythm

I want to see

#1 Nika break the assist record

#2 Lots of PT for the "bench"

#3 Everyone get out with no injuries.

Another loss would raise the chances of UConn dropping to a 3rd seed in the NCAA's. While I don't believe this would be a showstopper, would prefer UConn be ranked at least 5-7 to stay away from South Carolina as long as possible. Would take my chances in the Finals.

I don't usually participate in this but............ I would love to see them having fun. Smiles all around.

I’ve been concerned about the team for a few weeks now, but this should be an easy win. It was on the road with CD coaching. So …

1. A full house that shows total appreciation and love for Dorka and Lou. They will be emotional, so I hope they can settle into the game.

2. Azzi in warmups. One step at a time.

3. Nika posts a boatload of assists. I think she needs 9 to pass Clark for most in the nation (not per game).

She warmed up with the team at Depaul.

A good win for our Grad students. They came to the pressure cooker that is UConn very late and made it work for them and the team very, very well. Never going to forget these two.

1). Seniors have a great night.

2). Ayanna, Amari, and Ines getting more than 4 minutes on the floor. Give them, if the game is wide open, some minutes in order to save the starters.

3). Dump the ball into the post. Get that inside/outside game going.
