Top 3 Things You Want To See Monday Against Notre Dame- Game is at 5:00 pm at Gampel and is on Fox

UConn’s best low post players (Tuck, Pheesa, Sarah) did/do their work in the blocks before the ball comes in. Once they receive the ball they simply execute their move to score. With Serah it’s almost as if it’s a multiple step process. Catch the ball, dribble into position. Shoot the ball.

Looking back at her highlights at WI, a lot more of her scoring appears to have been short face up jumpers from 5-8 ft. I think she’s making a pretty big leap to play with her back to the basket. Hopefully, it all comes together for her in March.
Hopefully. It will make us have a different dimension in the offense because there will be a much more effective scorer in the post. I remember vividly Chuck Daly talking about Kevin McHale. First he would get position on the low block, then receive the ball, then pass it back out, reposition ever so slightly, receive the ball again, and it's a done deal. If you have to dribble to get into your position it is not only slower but you are also inviting a host of potential problems from the defense.

Am I alone in thinking that dropping a game during the regular season might actually be a blessing in disguise? In one of the games Renee M. was commenting she talked about how much pressure there was during her undefeated season when they got to March Madness because they didn’t want their first loss of the season to be during the NCAA tourney. Losing to ND and TN last year ended up working out great for us.

I think a big part of the problem with Serah is that she does not know at times how to go straight up and always has to dribble first. It makes no sense against a BE team. She is 6'4". All she has to do is shoot a baby jumper. She also needs to use her left hand more.

As for Kayleigh, she tries to force at times and a lot of those forces are to Serah, not Sarah, and she doesn't have the receiving skills that Sarah has. I thought she stayed with Bascoe fine. Her problem is the bump foul. She just has to contain, not steal every ball.

Blanca is better with the charges than in November/December but still starts her drive sometimes through traffic and that is the problem. BTW, I didn't think that was a charge last night The defender was clearly moving sideways into her to make contact on the replay. She puts herself in that situation by her move however and refs love that call.
I don’t fully understand the NCAA’s charge rule, but many of the charges called on Blanca would be considered defensive fouls in other leagues.

1. Offense plays to a 15 second shot clock or less
2. Turnovers under 12
3. Out rebound the Irish on the Offensive boards by six (6)+

BONUS: Reduce the number of passes when inside on offense-shoot the ball!!!!!!, Get the rebound!!!!!

1. Jana El Alfy back and playing meaningful and productive minutes
2. Ashlynn Shade hitting her outside shot consistently and goes for 15+ points
3. KK & K9 continue to both play the Point at a World Class Level

Make life tough for Hildago and she will lose her cool, say stuff she shouldn't, react negatively, and likely get T'd up...like she did a few weeks ago...and then she will get more flustered...and potentially get a second T..
REgardless...making life very difficult for Hildalgo and the game will be all UCONN. ND can not win this if Hildalgo is limited by our guards, and the rest of UCONN plays a normal game.

Molisanos, I concur completely. In the WNBA and FIBA leagues worldwide (pro and amateur), many of Blanca's offensive fouls would be called as defensive fouls on the opponent.

My guess is the optic of someone so big and so fast streaking towards the hoop with the confidence of being able to move around/past the opponent and score - is something the NCAA refs without WNBA experience are simply not used to. I would bet they mistakenly view it as a player out of control.

I think Blanca sometimes surprises the opponent as well when she shifts gears and changes direction at the last moment. The result is the opponent moving into her path, ostensibly in an attempt to "complete the sale" of the call.

CD during a recent post game with Bob Joyce and Debbie Fiske alluded to officials having to get used to Blanca just like everyone else.

1. Thorough annelation of the green team
2. Jana dominates on both ends
3. Carol give us 10 and 5. I love (good) excitement at the end of the game

A lot of comments about limiting HH..didn't people watch the last 2 years when HH completely embarrassed both KK and Paige trying to guard her.. that being said
1) keep HH under 30 pts and focus shutting down the other players
2)keep the to's under 12
3)play their normal great over all defense and they win by 30+

1. Hold Hidalgo to 15 points and 2 steals.
2. Azzi and Blanca both score 20+.
3. While the rest of the team goes Beatrix Kiddo with Hattori Hanzō katanas and Five-Point Palm Exploding Heart Techniques. Metaphorically.

Besides a win and no injuries (thank God Bransford isn't playing...).

Jana to play and play well
KK, Kayleigh, Azzi et al dominate Hannah
Sarah be her absolute, dominating best
