After a great team effort against DePaul and a "This is Our House" type game from Aaliyah, here are my top 3 things against Tennessee:

1) A win;

2) Keep the same intensity, chemistry and teamwork but make the safer and stronger pass instead and if you are receiving it, step into it to get it;

3) A great "no doubt" start with transition baskets and lock down defense.

We are getting better every game, our bench is improving and making solid contributions and it now has a reinvigorated Ayanna back. Keep it going Huskies!

1. More than just one player (Lou) making a 3-point shot. Preferably 4 different players. This will help open up the paint. Tennessee is long and athletic.

2. Subs playing at least 25 minutes altogether, allowing every starter an average of 5 minute rest. I, along with others, notice Geno complains a lot his starters not getting rest…but then he won’t sub them.

3. A competitive game. I am okay with a loss, but it seems many of our losses in recent years have been blowouts. Just want a competitive game. Keep it within 5 points if a loss.

1. Everyone leave the game injury-free!
2. Defensive rebounding—don’t let them get second(+) chances!
3. Making jump shots! Let’s see some 3s and some midrange jump shots go in!

1). Poise. Block out the noise and chatter. Play The Right Way.
2). Pressure. No comfortable shots by any of the Tennessee players. Make them uncomfortable.
3). Team Ball. Play Together. Play Smart. Play Hard.
I like all three, but you know the best way to take a crowd out of a game.........................:rolleyes:

For this team to be where they are, despite the many injuries, is amazing .... it's actually helped some players really evolve though it's been tough for the girls that have lost playing team .... hopefully by the end of February, we'll have everyone back healthy and be a juggernaut that will play South Carolina and remind them of who the Uconn Huskies really are .... that would surely be a wonderful way to end this season, wouldn't it!!!!!!!

Yes it would. I am actually hopeful about the first game on February 5. Although we will not have Azzi by then, we may have Caroline which would be great. A lot will depend on the officiating underneath in that first game. We are more formidable and have more chemistry as a team than many of us think. Thursday will be a good barometer of where we are.

1. Do not be goaded into fouls. Talk around Nashville is foul them 'til they foul out.

2. No injuries.

3. The 3 ball returns in force.

1) Keep moving in half court, no standing around and throwing up 3’s for the heck of it.
2) No dumb fouls
3) Box out like you mean it
Rebounds will make the difference in this game.

1. play with Confidence on both sides of the ball no touch fouls
2. Energy
3. Poise
This is an important game. It is on the road, in front of a hostile crowd, and the history behind the rivalry is the core of the history of womens basketball. We have been showing some real swagger as of late. Tonight is the time to really see how much we have improved since the Maryland game.
