While at the game at Finneran on Wednesday, there was a lot of nail biting and angst in the first half. This time of year can be the low point of the season, while waiting for the post season, but we just can't play like we did the first half against Nova. Here are my top 3 things:

1) Start the game with high energy as a team on offense and defense, even if it is forced.

2) Serah to play with fire and intensity to start the game like she played in Wednesday's 3rd quarter so she is not substituted for in the first 5 minutes.

3) Blanca to get her timing back and Kayleigh to just play through it by working harder.

Time to start the big wheels turning. This home game should serve us well. What are yours?

1. Set plays at the start for Azzi and Sarah to get off to a quick start. No TO’s throwing to the post unless wide open. Stars first
2. Blanca to ramp up and stay agressive
3. 100% effort by all on the smothering DEF at the jump

No slow start
Sharper focus on both ends of the floor
A relaxed team having fun

I believe Sunday is the Senior Day game, so it won’t be the regular lineup to start, he always starts all the seniors on Senior Day/Night. So, I assume Caroline will start if able.

The ceremony honoring the seniors now follows the game rather than preceding it. But even so, there will be some heightened emotion at the start of this game. Just hope it doesn’t make for yet another slow start.

There are 4 teams worse than PC in the big east, with Butler and DePaul at the bottom, so while this game should not be competitive, it's not like I expect a 60 point blowout.

I'd like to see a more consistent effort and for the team to simply play better. I'm not sure if some of the team is under the weather or what is going on, but the last 2 games have been less than impressive. Something seems "off" so I'd like to see the team more "on". Won't know what that means until I see it LOL...
  • It seems the Serah era is limping to a close. She seems to be a shell of the player who was all-everything in her last conference. BUT ever the optimist, hope she puts together some good minutes on BOTH offense and defense.
  • Better games for Allie and Kayleigh - they were both MIA in the Villanova game
  • KK and Blanca to get back to their "old" selves
I know I'm more critical than usual, but with 3 regular season games left, it's time to start fine tuning things.

According to Geno in the Hartford Courant, it's just a natural low combined with sickness for Sarah and maybe others. Geno said that unlike other years this team just kept on getting better and better from the gate instead of it coming later. He thinks it's just a "play through it' thing. They need rest and will get it a week from Sunday. this is one of those times where it is good to be in the BE.

I wonder if this game is going to be called off because of the Blizzard?

From 6am Sunday - 6pm Monday night.

Yes! No more forcing it into the low post on the first few possessions, screen (and screen again) for Azzi & Sarah!

I agree. Almost a guaranteed turnover when the ball is forced in.

In addition to the usual no injuries and a win (& in this case, everyone safely reaching their destinations)...

UCONN putting the game away in the first half (& no Azzi and Sarah in the second half).
Caroline feeling good to go and creating some magic with Yanna, Jana & Kelis.
Jana and Serah dominating.

Looking for a return to form - with the same asks.
1. Continued improvement of bigs - rebounds and points.
2. Keeping turnovers below 10.
3. Getting to the line and working towards an 80% make rate.
