That was an important and confidence exuding win against Louisville. Watching this team jell right now is both exciting and hypnotic. We have to keep all the pistons firing so here are my top 3 things for Monday other than a win and no injuries;

1) Start like we did against Louisville on offense in the first quarter and play defense like we did against Louisville in the third quarter.

2) Nika to only have 2 turnovers.

3) Q and Ice to have strong games.

No time now to stop working , moving or improving. Put the foot down on the accelerator and run, baby, run.

This one’s easy, for me at least.
  1. KK finishing her drives
  2. Qadence hitting from 3
  3. Ice playing fierce D
I don’t need to see anything new from Ashlynn since she is already pretty far along the right track. Can you picture a game in which these four get 20+ mins each and the seniors play only sparingly?

  • I want to continue to see improvement in the ball and player movement that we just saw vs Louisville.
  • I want to see greater contributions from Q & Ice as they establish themselves as greater contributors to the regular rotation.
  • I want to see Nika take much better care of the ball.

For me, the three things I want to see are:

1). That same starting five & everyone scoring in double digits.

2). Paige getting 6 blocks & Ice and Q getting 10-15 minutes of playing time.

3). 30 minutes of defensive intensity so that Amari and Ines can get 5-10 minutes of playing time.

Let's go, Huskies!!

1. Continued growth on playing "light" as Geno said re ball and player movement
2. Crisper passes from everyone
3. More playing time for the freshies, gain confidence, solidify roles

In addition to the usual win and no injuries:

1. Paige continues her NPOY campaign by standing out on both ends.

2. Liya dominates with 25 and 15.

3. One of the frosh gets hot and puts up 15+.

Show Edwards we appreciate and recognize her having been here through all the injuries. When she touches the ball...cheer or take a shot. UCONN loves Canada!

-Nika to stop throwing the ball away
-Nika to shoot when wide open

Of course the same no injuries and healthy stuff and of course a win then:
1. Offense and defense look like the best versions of the Louisville game.
2. All available players get to stuff the stat sheet.
3. Nike to calm the neigh sayers with <3 turnovers, >10 points and >10 assists for a double double.

I haven't given up. But the only chance for a breakthrough is if she could get sustained minutes in a series of games with other quality players still in the game to quickly help her when she gets stuck at the top of the key with no clue what to do, for example. To repeatedly find her when she gets in good position (which she does) and to continue to do that even when it's not immediately productive. Do this in a series of 5-6 in-hand games over a several week period and I believe there's a chance.

Garbage minutes just continue the failure mode.

But for Geno to gift her that kind of quality time and focus on an ongoing basis when her practice time and previous game performance have not earned it would be very un-Geno-like.
