You sure have strong feelings about who is point shaving over the yearsUConn had an offense no one had seen before, and it was unstoppable. It would break teams. The Alabama Final Four game was a perfect example of what that offense would do. Alabama played great, but they couldn’t stop UConn and took increasingly crazy shots out of desperation because UConn would score every possession.
UNLV was the better team, and I am certain Hunt and at least one other player was point shaving against Duke.
Yup. The Georgetown Title team had a hell of a defense. They played some great teams as well including Hakeem, Clyde & Houston.John Thompson's Georgetown not having one team listed is criminal.

It's true, responding every week or so to one of your insane posts is basically stalking. I'm the weird one here.Your stalking of me is getting kind of weird.
Do you notice how many people on here have a problem with so many of your posts? It's well deserved.Your stalking of me is getting kind of weird.

You’ve posted in so many different threads about so many different games being questionable. It’s like your main thing along with not understanding how the metrics work.He is doing an unfunny callback of a game thread post. Who the fudge remembers game thread posts? It is weird.

You have to be kidding. I loved that team, but they finished 9th in the Big East. Ninth. The postseason run was absolutely unreal, and they deserved to be national champions. But one of the best teams of all time? No.People always underrated 2011. Kemba, Jeremy lamb, and Oriakhi was a pretty solid big 3. Lamb was so good down the stretch and didnt look like a freshman at all. Then Shabazz off the bench was great too.
But it sure felt like it the last 11 games of the season. You have to be kidding. I loved that team, but they finished 9th in the Big East. Ninth. The postseason run was absolutely unreal, and they deserved to be national champions. But one of the best teams of all time? No.
It really doesn't matter how athletic UNLV was - we'd slow them down into a grind and we towered over them. A Castle today is 100x stronger than a stringy Augmon. I honestly think there is a better chance the 24 team would win 8/10. Were were their answers? A 6'6" Larry Johnson taking mid range jumpers? The only way to match teams up of these differing eras is player for player, and I just don't it.
They were flashy, they had Tark, they ran over a lousy league, they were built for their era.
The one team from the 90s that comes up a lot is 96 UK. That was Pitinos NC team with Delk and Anderson. No traditional size but lots of 6’6” long armed types. They pressed. I honestly don’t know how we some beat that team up either as we has basically 3 big PGs.I don't care if it was the '90 or '91 UNLV squad. If you put both of those teams up against the '24 UConn Huskies each 10x, UNLV might win two games, total.
I'm not taking a side, but I've noticed you mention point shaving or illicit gambling with games multiple times. Sorry to pile on, I don't think he's stalking you though.
I agree with UNLVTexas Western was historic, but not one of the best teams of all time.
8 loss Michigan is ridiculous.
2004 UConn was a great team. Most of those losses happened with Okafor out or at 50%.
1991 UNLV was the best team I have ever seen. I will go to my grave thinking that game vs. Duke was fixed.
07 Florida is top 25, not top 10.

Took a closer look at that UNLV run - nothing close to 2024 UConn. They were far from dominant in the tourney before they ran into Duke, beat a couple of BE .500 teams by single digits.
They beat the number two team in the country that year (Arkansas) 112-105. Otherwise, beat up on a bad conference. Really think that team was more sizzle over substance. Very good, don't get me wrong. 2024 UConn team ran through the tournament, inclusive of the 2nd best and dominant team in the title game.
They beat an unranked 19-13 Georgetown team by 8 points! They beat Georgetown by 8 in a tournament game that wasn't that close. Georgetown had two future HoFers on the roster. Every other tournament game was decided by 10+ points. They played 5 ranked teams in the regular season, and won 4 of those games by 10+ points.
UConn 2024 is one of the best teams of all time. It doesn't make UNLV 1991 worse.
Camby will always be the one who got away, if UConn had him they would've probably had 2 national championships before '99.UK 95-96 versus the UNLV 90-91 team would be fantastic. So much athletic talent and also high level basketball.
One thing that gets forgotten is that UK 95-96 team beat a championship level UMass team in the national semi, which really was the championship game. Umass had beat UK early that season, both teams were #1 and #2 all season long. Only other loss that season for UK was to Miss State, which also made that final four with Syracuse.
'24 would swallow them up. Our guards would simply be too big for their guards and their attack of the rim would be slowed down by Clingan.
UNLV's schedule was easy and they didn't get the job done when it mattered.
They beat an unranked 19-13 Georgetown team by 8 points!
Dude, just give up.
How did that Georgetown team lose 13 games with 2 future Hall of Famers? Did they have a lot of injuries? You think Mourning and Mutombo suck, I do not. The Hall of Fame agrees with me.
Absolutely zero guard play at all. Having 2 bigs with zero guards is not a recipe for success. Two highest scoring guards were freshmen no names. How did that Georgetown team lose 13 games with 2 future Hall of Famers? Did they have a lot of injuries?
Obviously mourning and mutombo don't suck but them being in the HOF 20 yrs later doesn't retroactively make that year's Gtown TEAM not suckYou think Mourning and Mutombo suck, I do not. The Hall of Fame agrees with me.
Those two couldn’t even beat Dan Cyrulik and Toraino Walker - and that was with Mark Tillmon scoring 24.You think Mourning and Mutombo suck, I do not. The Hall of Fame agrees with me.
