UCONN players have 3 of the 4 top spots and 4 in the top 10...

  1. Angel 20.6
  2. Diana 20.3
  3. Maya 20.2
  4. Tina 19.8
  5. EDD 17.9
  6. Nneka 17.3
  7. Jewell 17.1
  8. Kayla 17.0
  9. Sugar 16.0
  10. Tiffany 15.8
  11. Stewie 15.7
Glad to see some new names in the upper echelon - especially Sugar Rogers. Nneka, Jewell, Kayla, Sugar and Tiff (and of course Stewie) - sort of the next generation of WNBA "stars".

Nobody was talking about Angel early on but she's gotta be near the top of the MVP discussions along with Tina and Maya. I don't think Dee is quite part of the discussion yet as her team is doing pretty poorly, but from a "production" standpoint, those 4 are head and shoulders above everyone else in the league...

A few random WNBA thoughts: ( I decided to put them here, rather than start a new thread.)

1. In the Lynx first five or six games, they established a 20 point lead in the first half, then allowed the opponent to get close, then the starters finished the game. In the last three games, opponents have played the Lynx close for two or three quarters, only to have the Lynx blow the game open in the fourth quarter. An interesting pattern. Besides starting four Olympians plus Brunson, the Lynx may have the best bench also. Looking forward to the showdown with the Sparks.

2. The Mystics are interesting: Winless in five games at home, while going 4 and 2 on the road. I don't think I've seen that kind of anomaly before. I'm sure it will even out before the end of the season. But still.....

3. Love the WNBA League Pass. A big thanks to the Boneyard for highlighting it, plus the $2 discount. For $14.95, a great investment!

There's a name that seems to be missing on that list. I can't seem to remember the name. It's at the tip of my tongue. Perhaps the Olympic selection committee remembers.

No need to use it, if you don't need to. They are slaughtering their opponents. She can turn it on whenever she wants to. That's the beauty of her game. In games her team won by 20 - 30 points, her scoring was down to under 10, except for the 1st game when she introduced herself to the rook. :p :D Funny though, because she's averaging 6 assists in the games her scoring was below 10. Versatility at it's finest.

I could probably start a thread about favorite flavors of cake, and it would evolve into debate about Candace Parker
Maya loves Red Velvet, but I bet that Candace doesn't. ;)

Maya, Nneka and Tina - 3 best players in the league right now with Angel and Dee right up there as well. MVP may be more about who's teams have the best records, but those 5 are head and shoulders above everyone else in the league right now...
