Sixty-one years ago 26 year-old Bob Hazle came up with the Milwaukee Braves who were in the middle of a pennant race. Hazle had never done much in his career prior to that, but the player development people said that he was so hot in the minors that no one could get him out. For the last 41 games of the 1957 season he hit .403 and practically willed the Braves into the World Series against the Yankees. They won the WS but Hazle was not a factor. He faded into oblivion after that and was out of baseball two years later.
Tony Renda is a 27 year-old second baseman who kicked around in the Cincinnati organization and has had less than a spectacular career. Suddenly in 2018, no one can get him out. He is hitting .398 with an OPS of 1.013 in 33 games between Portland and Pawcatuck. Although the sample size is small the comparison is uncanny. Could he be the next hurricane to hit Boston?

Looks like you got your wish. He’ll be taking Kinsler’s roster spot.
