We have the ESPN "College Game Day" Crew at the game tonight, beginning their broadcast starting at 7:00 PM. From reports, the ESPN College Game Day crew will be Elle Duncan hosting alongside Andraya Carter, Rebecca Lobo, Carolyn Peck and Holly Rowe from inside Thompson-Boling Arena. The show will air at 7 p.m. on ESPN for the hour preceding Tennessee vs. No. 4 UConn on Thursday (8 p.m., ESPN). The game is part of ESPN's annual "We Back Pat" initiative honoring the late Lady Vols coach Pat Summitt, and the show will have a segment on Summitt and her legacy. For the Broadcast, I would suspect it will be Ryan Rucco doing the Play by Play with Rebecca Lobo on Color Commentary (but I maybe wrong on that one).

I am soooo hoping you’re right! Rebecca’s insights into the play of the bigs, and especially Aaliyah, are golden. And witty banter with Andraya on “talking that guard talk” is just a wonderful plus.

Wonder how much game action we'll miss as they cover half the screen with a promo graphic for some men's game or cut away to Holly for five minutes to tell us some completely useless and irrelevant story. The "sideline reporter" was the worst thing to happen to sports broadcasts.

I 100% agree. But I'm thankful I can watch the game on my 50" TV instead of Game Cast on my computer. Tonight is the first of 3 challenges that UCONN faces in it's progression to the NC title. I believe we are ready and " GO HUSKIES".

You’ve captured my sentiment. I also think we’re ready. In weaker moments, I reflect on how ready our likely opponents are getting to be, too. It will be a difficult path, and not just at the end, but we are intrepid.

Am I in the minority when I say "College Game Day" doesn't do it for me? Do you think there's any appeal for the players?

You are not the only one, the only person that is on there that I could listen to is Rebecca. I would have to mute it for everyone else, especially Carter and Peck.

Yes. The SC players loved it. It’s fun to have all the focus on the women for a night, regardless of what teams are playing. If you go to a high profile school to play, this is a dream come true.

I agree that the sideline reporter gets in the way sometimes. I want to watch the game. I don’t want to listen to a bunch of stories during the game. Save it for time-outs.

It doesn't make a lot of sense for basketball. For football I can see it because those games are much bigger events, but that show has gone way down hill in recent years, and I'll be curious to see Fox's new show that's supposed to compete with Game Day.

I don’t mind Game Day. A bigger spotlight is good for the game. I don’t care for Holly. Her questions have gotten a bit stale, though she can tell some good stories. I like Andraya. And Ryan Ruoco comedy can be pretty good sometimes. But Rebecca is clearly the prize of this crew. Generally, I like when former players can offer their insights effectively in these games.

No need to get agitta in advance.
I’m sure we’ll be plenty annoyed tonight

Just like GameDay for college. It's all about the personality favorite. So not much faith in it. And it's only on ESPN because of Tennessee. Which just sucks. I will stick to my uconn radio, where we get a 50-50 shot of positive news. And not all about who we are up against and more on who we are. So all enjoy. And Go Huskies.

I agree and the women's game needs as much spotlight as it can get if it expects to grow. Whatever accomplishes that is fine with me. Plus, I think they players enjoy the hoopla.

Hope we get another Game Day for the already sold out visit from Mulkey and company.

While Alan Bestwick and Meg Culmo take heat for their announcing from parts of the Boneyard, every time I listen to the national broadcasters (excluding Lobo who is excellent), I realize we have one of the better women's basketball teams on SNY. Unfortunately, the bar is not too high based on the horrid SEC and ACC announcers I am forced to listen to.

I like Meg. She also brings a player's insights to the game. And Alan works well with her. I also particularly appreciate Kara's pre- post- and halftime commentary.

I assume that the game is at 7pm Eastern. Is this correct?

The sideline reporter is like the weather man standing out in a raging blizzard trying to report the conditions.
