Too bad it doesnt have anything to do with being a TE. Definitely a great athlete though.

Kid is huge for a high school senior and works super hard at everything. Give him a year to redshirt and learn the system and hit the gym and he can be a big help. Also kicks field goals.

His 30 rebound game is still his most impressive non-football sports sat.

4th in the nation for high school javelin. #wowzers

Wes Welker credits soccer with his ability to make cuts on the football field. I bet cross-training yields a lot of indirect benefits. You can go your whole life without realizing that the way you move your feet in relation to the ground can be altered and varied. This is what soccer can teach people. It would never occur to a football player to point their toes straight down to the ground (why would it?) but Welker used that technique to trick defenders when he made his cuts.

What three former high school track and field national record holders played for the 49ers at the same time? Hint: Francis was one

>>UConn commit Tommy Myers a double winner

UConn football signee Tommy Myers won the shot put and javelin at today's CIAC Class S Track and Field Championships.

Myers, a Coventry High senior who projects to be a tight end for the Huskies, was the top-seeded competitor in both events. He won the shot put with a winning throw of 52-6.5. He won the javelin by more than 25 feet recording a best throw of 194-11. Myers had a chance to set the Class S mark in the javelin of 199-4 set by Lyman Memorial's Miles Snelgrove in 2008 as his season best was 200-11.

Myers has qualified for the State Open in both events.<<

Best athlete to get thrown 6 passes a year since Ryan Griffin, callin it now!

But really, I've seen the kid play hoops and I'd love to know what his vertical is. Should be able to go up and get the ball then run through people.
