"He has a 39-inch vertical [leap], the size, skills and, most importantly, the desire to be a football player," Bonito said."

That would put him tied for tenth amongst all participants and #1 amongst TE @ 2013 NFLCombine.

Underrated and a diamond in the rough because he went to a small CT high school in my opinion.

I know it's my hometown pride showing, but I think this kid is gonna surprise a lot of people. And there's nothin' wrong with gettin' some love from the hometown kids.

You also have to believe, with both his parents being former UConn athletes, that once he committed no one even bothered to look at him.

Just his pure athletic ability would have gotten him offers.

Kid is going to be dynamite. I hope TJ tells PP to leave him the alone.

hmmm. 6'5 243, wonder if he might put on some weight and develop into a LT.

He would have to put on 50 pounds for that to be worth it. Not out of the question, but probably not worth it either. Still, he has the opportunity to be a fantastic TE!

I cannot wait to see him develop now that he is concentrating on one sport. The reason I speculate LT is how he put on weight when he hit the weight room. Putting on 50 is not very difficult. I am sure he will be a success at whatever position he settles in at. He is an amazing athlete.

I think his parents also sheltered him from the spotlight. Some parents would have had him at all kinds of camps and he would have get a ton of offers. probably a couple big time programs would have jumped in the mix. Everything worked out perfectly for UConn

Has Sundays written all over him.

I couldn't agree more. But after reading the quote below I'd also add that young Mr. Myers seems like the type of kid who's destined to accomplish great things every day of the week.

Myers smiled.

"I'm grounded," he said. "At UConn, I realize there are a lot of players good or better than me. I have to work that much harder in all areas to beat them. I look forward to that."

If it was so easy, tell me why Hemingway and Nwojeki have had a hard time doing it.

But I agree with the rest of your statement; I also believe that he will be a success...

Was working off Ipad @ baseball game yesterday... failed to note that a 4.8 40yd dash time would have TM sitting @ #10 among TE @ Combine.

Can't imagine what a few years working w/ UConn S+C gurus will do for him

What you also missed is that he ran a 4.8 40 METER dash. What does that equate to in the 40 yd. dash? Probably VERY impressive for a tight end!

Do they plan on redshirting him? Seems like he could help out right away.

Let's just say he's fast for his age and size.

I assumed the "meter" reference was a typo since most world class sprinters' 40m split times in a 100m dash are in the 4.7 neighborhood. (I do realize they are still accelerating but...). I maybe 100% wrong and if it's indeed meters - he's greased lightening with the ability to out jump most LBs and DBs.

Either way - excited to see him in Husky Blue.

It starts with meters and before you know it I'm paying for and booze with Euros.

We need to nip this imperial system of measure in the bud!

Nothing wrong with that... I've been doing it for 7 years now.
