Toledo's Matt Campbell vs Warde's last football coach hire who happens to be having a great year.

Campbell is someone I would like to see UCONN make a push for if our top choices don't pan out.

Why would Campbell not be one of the top choices?

Came home from a mtg and saw the score - holy Toledo!

Limited sample size but I wouldn't complain if they talked to him. Ohio born and bred.

He's got to be able to win, but does he have B1G connections?

After tonight I agree. Move him into the top group of candidates.

This is a bumper crop year for MAC coaches:

Lembo
Campbell
Clawson
Rod Carey

I'm beginning to wonder if Campbell should be dropped to the next group of candidates.

Agree with you. ONLY DRAWBACK and it is minor ......is this:

Campbell signed a contract extension through 2017 (( and though still low in comparison to FBS coaches...he received a bump in salary. From base of $265K plus "marketing fees and expenses of $125,000 to $440,000 base per year plus....))
The kicker is this: There is a new buyout clause of $330,000 in years 2013 and 2014. so it would cost us an added $330K but we do have the BE payouts to cover us .....

Like you, my first choice is still Lembo but Campbell needs a look.

Ha... And Jeff Quinn moved up?
You know, I have a hunch that Quinn is a very very good football coach. He has steadily built Buffalo from nothing to a pretty solid exciting football team. I guess I'd like to see him do it for a few more seasons, keep making progress, but considering it was Buffalo he has done a pretty solid job this year. Not sure I would want him yet but long term I might want to keep an eye on him.
