Good stuff. thanks!!

The guy from the Daily Campus probably wished he had a do-over.

Q: Coach - what on earth did you think it would take to get Heather Buck into last night's game?
A: What did I what...?
Q: What did you think it would take to get Heather Buck into last night's game?
A: Why is that relevant?
Q: I mean I was just asking about last night...
A: Why... I mean... ah... you know Heather Buck is one of our players so I put her in when I think it's time to put her in. No sooner, no later.

Other answers...

If we win, most rewarding thing - whenever he talks to the team, he talks about what he thinks they can be. In November and early on, he said "I think this could be a really special group". The way they worked together, how hard they went, the special aura they had, and the team felt they could be really good. When things got out of kilter, and players didn't develop like he thought they would, there was a sense that maybe he was wrong and maybe what he thought he saw wasn't thru. Privately he hoped he didn't over estimate what he thought we had. Didn't know what to do to get some of the guys to shake the little bit of doubt. Most rewarding for Geno would be it wasn't easy for them and that they conquered something that was in their minds if UCONN is fortunate enough to win.

Great stuff from Geno. Loved what he said about Bria, what happened after her injury, how she's changed since her struggles and what it will mean for next year.

Also, great question (I think from DiMauro) about what the fact that Griner and Diggins graduate with a combined 1 national championship says about what UConn accomplished with its great players (from 2000 to 2010). It is truly amazing when you think about it.

Really worth a listen with some insightful stuff about Bria, Caroline and others. Also some good comments about his relationship with Jeff Walz. Said he sees a lot of himself in Jeff. Said he taught Jeff how to get called for a technical and now every time they play Jeff makes sure he gets a technical to prove he's a good student.

I also liked his answer about what has been the constant in his program. While he's wavered and become more lax, he said CD has not wavered one bit from the first day of practice 28 years ago. I believe that! And a nice mention of Shea, Marissa, Tonya and Jamelle.

When asked about Geno, Jeff had some great stuff to say about his contributions to WCBB. He also mentioned that Geno will not make him wear a tie when he comes to work in his restaurant.

I like this guy

Obviously I am listening to the LV presser following UConns.....
