Today's games

Stanford just tied it up, ASU has to call a TO.

USC up 2 w/ possession, about 8 seconds left. OSU has scored 21 points in the 2nd half and has 27 turnovers. This team has serious issues.

Ekmark did a couple of nice things down the stretch, drawing a foul on a drive and scoring from in close.

USC gets first conference win 65-61. Beavers absolutely stunk this weekend in LA. Pathetic showing. They won't be winning a 4th conference title in a row, that's for sure.

the beavers let me down this weekend Head bang

ASU up 10 w/ 46 seconds left. Their zone defense befuddled Stanford most of the game. Sun Devils are 4-0 in conference. If Oregon loses to UCLA they are all alone in first place, if the Ducks win they will be tied. Several teams at 3-1. It's real early but already the conference race is pretty intriguing.

Ekmark and ASU taking down Stanford. She's not doing a whole lot, but she is helping her team. I'm happy for her.

George Mason vs. George Washington on CBSSN at 6PM ET.

After OOC my expectations for Washington were increased somewhat. Not a good start to conference play for them. 0-3 entering today's game against Colorado. They jumped out to a 20-9 lead after the first quarter but have been outscored 50-34 since, midway thru the 4th quarter. Losing at home to Utah and Colorado is pretty disastrous. That might be the most winnable pair of games they'll have all season. Amber Melgoza having another good game, but nobody else scoring much.

edited--Melgoza has 28 on 10-17 shooting, nobody else from UW in double figures. I am stunned by her improvement from last year. It's not fair to try to compare her to Plum, but she's really been fantastic the last 10 games or so. I don't know if I noted this in another thread, but the game last week against Oregon she scored 23 in the 4th quarter against the Ducks. That's kind of rare air, players that can get 20+ in a quarter.

Does Stanford make the NCAA tourney? They're 9-7 and they have Cal twice, Oregon, Oregon State, USC, UCLA, and ASU again.

Sure. Go 3-4 in those games, win the rest and they finish 19-11 (13-5 in conference). Easy peasy.

If they finish 6th or 7th in a down PAC-12, and lose double digits with 1-2 good wins.......

I bet they'll lose 1 or 2 games to conference teams that weren't on that list.

USC whittled a 14 point deficit down to 4 at the end of the 3Q. OSU should be able to petition the NCAA for immediate eligibility for Slocum because they don't have anybody that can handle the ball. That's a hardship.
It worked for Notre Dame.

If that happens, Geno picks up 10 wins on Tara in the regular season, and hopefully a 3-9 more in the post-season.
