Because we find ourselves in the strange predicament of stalking each others boards and taking offense to the (little) bit of mud being slung around, wanted to take the opportunity to pay a few compliments.

1) Shaka is awesome. If you were to search our forums you would probably find a thread or two of us flirting with the idea of him before we fell in love Kevin Ollie in earnest over the course of last year. Some faster than others.

2) I think many would tell you that we look at VCU and see our own program not too long ago. Our roots are in the press and run and gun basketball. It was the bridge that sustained uconn excellence until the recruiting caught up with the on court performance. Terry Larrier may very well be your Donyell Marshall. I'm sure someone will correct me with an earlier name here in our history. But I'll say Donyell.

3) I was in the UConn student section in Houston on the same side as VCU's. And I came away enamored with the VCU band and students. The fight song/war cry thing you do where everyone screams is legit awesome.

4) I hope you stick around. Its cool to see an up an coming program with a rabid fan base. Don't break your servers with popcorn gifs

I agree with all of this.

Unless you guys get Larrier. You can all yourselves then.

I personally hate VCU. I hate anything that stands in the way, like football season.

Amen. Name a conference, name a team, name a player...I hate them. I had never admired opposing programs like other fans here, but the APR bull pushed me over the edge into a full-fledged 24/7/365 hate fest. And when there's a leap year, I hate for 366 days. anybody/anything not in Husky blue.

Great coach, and the fans I encountered in Houston were by and large great people. A great turnout for your team there.
