"horrible" take is a bit of a stretch my friend.. Let's not get out of control

Sometimes I think we approach what a kid may want based on what we want as adults. The things that a city provides: good restaurants, culture, real night life, might not matter as much to an 18 year old as we think. There are a ton of SEC schools that aren't in big fun cities. Alabama, MISS.STATE, OLE MISS, Florida, Auburn, etc. The campus is the city.
At least from my perspective, I grew up 15 minutes from NYC but didn't lament the lack of a city during my 4 years at uconn. I think the newfound freedom, parties, girls and on campus bars kept me busy enough. And I had a blast: as did all of us who went to Uconn and consider it the 4 best years of our lives.

any money on certain posters coming in to dispute the "suburb/city" distinction and also that a kid would have that opinion of Storrs, indeed a bustling metropolis?
Ha! It's funny. The city/suburbs argument is an adult only issue. The kid who just turned 18 doesn't see these distinctions either way, nor do they care. 21 maybe...but 18?

.-.
But what do people in MA consider a "suburb" of Boston? Anything inside of 495??
Pretty much anything in New England. After all, it's known as the Hub because Bostoners consider it the "hub" of the universe. Silly people...

Awww how cute for BC
TBH- I hope BC gets him and becomes relevant again. I thoroughly enjoyed that rivalry back in the day, would be nice to kick their asses again for old times sake.

Leo P is not a fan of UConn.. He is big on UNC ..

As long as I'm alive I will never wish for good things to happen BC. The campus could get swallowed up by the Atlantic Ocean and I wouldn't bat an eyelash. F BC.

Sigh, my nightmare is real.

He'll never play and then transfer home to BU or Holy Cross in a year.

Book it.

(It's all I have left)
The irony is you might be right about that. Took Joey Baker years to realize it though.

And four 5 stars in the 2022 class. Depending on who sticks around and for how long, Power has some stiff competition for playing time.

The below made me feel a little better. As I've mentioned before I saw him play his freshman and sophomore seasons at St. John's (he then repeated his sophomore year at Worcester Academy). Just goes to show how much a player can improve.

While Power’s priorities may have begun to shift early in his high school career, he continued to play both sports, and was a bit of a late-bloomer on the basketball court.

In fact, it was actually in the midst of the pandemic that his recruitment grew to the high-major level. He arrived at Worcester Academy the following September and was able to play against top competition on a consistent basis for the first time.

“I didn’t really know what to expect when I first got to Worcester Academy,” he said, “and when I realized I could be really productive in the NEPSAC, it tipped me too to say ‘I could be really good if I keep working on it.’”
