I just wanted to get a feel for what people think the timeframe is going to be for PP to get another DC hired and into the building. Obviously, the DC is an important position from an X's and O's standpoint, but also from a recruiting trail and current recruit standpoint. I'm hoping a candidate is selected relatively soon (in the next two weeks or so), but my gut tells me that it might go past January. Thoughts?

My gut tells me we may find out in the next few weeks. Either a FBS coach who's team is still playing or someone who comes available after NFL staff changeovers start after Black Monday.

Could be Hank Hughes as well...

im hearing we will let gdl take care of the dc job

I thought about giving Hughes the reins too. I like Hank, and back when it was still up in the air, I wouldn't have minded them having made him the head coach after Randy left (I'm sure I'll get many comments on that after having typed it). I think my top two picks for DC, in no particular order, are Hughes and Spaziani. I also think you're right that the NFL might provide the DC through PP's old contacts....(no pun intended on the word "old")...

Can't. He's going to have his hands full with OC, Offensive Line, and now probably taking over for Clayton White as the Running Backs coach too. Lots and lots of wallpaper, my friend...;)

I would have lived with Hank myself as HC. In hindsight he wouldn't have done worse than P, and sometimes not changing everything that isn't broken works just fine like. RU with Flood.

My feeling, eventually all the coaches will leave and it will be PP&GDL by themselves.

Between P and HH I think they have enough ability that they're not in too much of a hurry to find one. Within the next few weeks there will be a lot of shake up in coaching staffs in both college and the NFL. He'll probably bring in whoever he knows that is still looking for work when things settle down. Does anyone have any guesses on who he's worked with in the past that's likely to come aboard?

GDL at one point mentioned he could of stay in the NFL, blah, blah. What happened yesterday in the NFL for coaches who did not produce meant he would have been in the news.

Announcement coming in 20 minutes.

(I can't believe that it took 36 hours for this response)

If Chip Kelly bolts for NFL and Oregon staff takes hit with new HC... keep on eye out for Jerry Azzinaro to get consideration. PP and Northeast connections. Not sure we could afford him.
