And hire Spaz as our Defense Coordinator

The guy may suck as a HC, but he put together some pretty good defenses when he was coordinator and got some damn good LB's into the NFL. Plus he would fit in with the age qualifications for our coaching staff.

Maybe I'm delusional, whatever.

Good idea. The landscape is shifting, we will monitor, someone else will hire him.

IF YOU WANT TO REALLY DO THAT - OFFER THE HC JOB TO ADDAZIO

Feel like I should light myself on fire. Ugh.

It's not the worst idea I've heard. But it's not the best either.

He would be fine, and it really doesn't matter. No one not desperate is taking this job for a lame duck coaching staff. And at the end of the '13 season, we will presumably be starting fresh, and this time (unlike after the Fiesta Bowl) with enough time and forewarning for the new guy to be able to put his own staff in place.

it's not the worst idea, but not as good an idea as using actual fire.

i think i'm going to hold out hope that we bring back Don Brown as HC after next season

I can see this happening. We got Don Brown by sending our head coach to Maryland. Now we send our Defensive Coach to BC and get back their head coach.

This is a good week for this crap to happen. I feel so bad about Newtown I don't give a rats ass about this anymore. it.

You just essentially decided that we're going to have a terrible, or at least sub-.500, year this year, and that our head coach will (not "might") get fired.

(I'm trying to come up with some rebuttal and I'm not sure that I can.)

I want to have a good season, and if that means GDL and P stay longer so be it. But, with our losses to graduation, I have trouble seeing how we're going to do better next year. I hope I'm wrong, but I will be more pessimistic going into next year than I have been since '05

I can't see a pair of 60-something and 70-something coaches learning from their mistakes, particularly where I'm not sure they recognize some of those mistakes (e.g., the clock management at Rutgers, which for whatever reason stands out as one of the most egregious coaching decisions -- or non-decisions -- I've ever seen in football) are actually "mistakes."

So, yeah, I'd love to be able to disagree with you, but I really can't at this point (and with the losses to graduation, and to m.f. B.C., I'm not sure that I'll ever be able to disagree with you).

That said, I still can't wait until Blue-White this April.
