16 made threes which tied the record from 1995 in the NCAA tourney against Cincinnati. Congrats fellas!!

Edit: turns out we may have actually set the record tonight! We also tied the American record for 3's so maybe I'm just getting confused but hey!

I remember that Cinny game, wasn't it in the NCAA tourney?

In December we all would have expected a most missed 3s record - team, conference and NCAA
who would have thunk this happened
I was sitting in awe

@gtcam yup, I was just about to say, go figure that this is the team that breaks the record. Not the ones with Ray Allen that pressed and played up-tempo, but the one with six players and zero guys you would consider reliable outside shooters. Playing USF helps, I guess.

.-.
I'm pretty sure Jalen doubled his total made threes for the year tonight.

I know you're just kidding around but for the season he's 28-73 for 38.4%, which is pretty good. Not great, but above average. So before last night he was 22 for 65 for 33.9%, which isn't very good. So I guess you're right and last night really helped his percentage.

He's shot 73 threes in 22 games, or 3.3 per game. I wonder how many threes the better scoring point guards in college shoot per game? Should he be shooting more than 3.3 per game? As a comparison Purvis has shot 152 threes (in 23 games) and made 50 for 32.9%. That's 6.6 per game, double what Adams shoots.

Poor Cincy.

I was curious about it so I tried to track it down. Yes, it was the 2nd round game, after the squad slept-walked through Tennessee-Chattanooga. But the announcers got it wrong, Cinci actually buried 15-30 threes (Huggins said in his post game-presser that 30 threes attempted was far too many). It looks like UConn was a far more pedestrian 6-13.

Connecticut 96 Cincinnati 91
N.C.A.A. TOURNAMENT: WEST; UConn Cruises Past Cincinnati and Into the Sweet 16

15 was the record for UConn, but it was against Hartford on 12/28/1997 (Khalid had 7 and Rip had 4): El-amin Comes To Play
