Tickets to Louisville Game Nov 4 5:30 Naval Academy- Alumni Hall

I would love to go, but the drive from Santa Fe will take longer than I have, even if I leave right now.
Thanks for the update. And be sure to report back from the front!

Hi. I am a Uconn fan (lived in State for 25 yrs) and former Naval Academy faculty member and for last 10 yrs an Annapolis resident. Some tips for next week’s game at the Academy campus (known as the “Yard” locally).

Parking - other than those with handicapped tags, no visitor parking on the Yard. Two options - (1) park at the football stadium - Navy Marine Memorial Stadium on your car GPS search ($10.50 usually) and take free shuttle to the basketball arena (1.5 mi distant); (2) park at town garage (Hillman - car GPS name - is closest one) and walk to visitor center (Gate 1) - about 5 blocks, followed by another 5 blocks walk within Yard. Parking cost is about $4/hr. Both stadium and in town parking are credit/debit card only. Generally, no free street parking. Most street parking is 2 hr limit, more costly than garage, need an App to park,

Security - need ‘Real ID’ compliant license - like airport TSA check (or US passport) for entry to Yard. Don’t know if foreign passports will work for this event (they normally don’t - check ahead of time). Can’t bring large bags into arena, similar to football stadium rules.

Arena - a mini Gampel (5700 seats). No bleachers, seats have backs. Nice facility. Food and other concessions. No alcohol sold.

Postgame - Annapolis is walkable from Yard - see intown parking notes above. Hillman garage is one block from Main St. Tourist town with lots of good restaurants, bars, etc. Retail stores close 6pm. Academy students not allowed off Yard weekday nights, so mostly not a college crowd.

Hope this helps.

Since I took a two week vacation recently, the leave bank is a little light. Even if I could take a half day off, I would be traveling from Baltimore to Annapolis during the afternoon rush hour (who am I kidding, traffic sucks all day) so I won't be attending. The Naval Academy campus is beautiful and those who can get there will certainly enjoy the game and the venue. I'm jealous!

From the campus you can see two bridges I worked on when I was working for the State Highway Administration in my younger days. They are on US Rte. 50 and on MD 2.

Would love to have gone, Just can't get away for a day and part of two others, which is what it would take to do it from where we live. Dammit.

Well fudge! My wife’s best friend retired recently from the Naval Academy foundation and still lives in Annapolis, and her husband is a tour guide. But the change in venue came too late for us to be able to make the calendar adjustments we would need to make this work.

On a side note, and maybe this should be a different thread, does anyone know the financial ins and outs of a game played at a neutral site? Do the teams get any revenue from ticket sales, broadcast rights, etc?
