I usually stay at the Nugget in Sparks Decent Casino hotel, good prices, 5 minutes from Reno. Often food specials. I wouldn't bother with the season pass; good seats will be available. Lots and lots of inexpensive dining options, often change week to week; Baldini's has all-day breakfast, all-you can eat specials at very modest prices. We were there (Reno) two years ago Feb-mid March when there was no snow in the East so we stayed in Reno (Sparks), and drove up to Squaw Valley (where there was plenty of snow) for the day. Boomtown Casino (10 minutes down the road towards Tahoe) also has a few cheap all-you can eat specials. Sorry that all I have first-hand knowledge of is the more modest spots, we were there for a long time and had to economize...still we had a blast. Oh, the Wok on Silverado Blvd is a decent Chinese Buffet...lots of seafood 1825 Silverada Blvd, Reno, NV 89512
