When I was accepted into UConn in the early 1980’s, my SAT scores were below the top 33% and above the bottom 67% of my class. Now, those same scores would put me above 33% and below 67% of the current freshman class. Based on that, UConn is clearly more difficult to get into now. But I often wonder if the difficulty of the SAT has changed in the last 40+ years.
Not sure you can be below 33% and above 67%! How did you do on the math part? Lol

Notre Dame is different because of the NBC thing dating back forever. They built their fan base well before cable TV was a thing. So they had a head start. What is another religious school with such a devout (pun intended) following. Fandom is much more generational with those midwesterners.
There has to be a top dog and in that category it's ND but, BYU has a devout fairly large following as well.
