Boston similar to NYC has no interest in college sports. Both cities are heavy into Pro sports. I lived in NYC for 10 years and only teams mentioned were Giants, Yankees, Knicks, Rangers, Mets and Jets.
New York doesn't live and die with.... Rutgers

I am shocked.

BC is a religious school so being in a Metropolitan area full of other religions I can see it not being the #1 team to get behind.
Nah.

I'll bring up the analogy of Notre Dame again. About 90 minutes from Chicago. I'm pretty sure they have a bigger share of the Chicago market than either Illinois or Northwestern, and possibly both combined. It's not the religious thing. It's the "why should we give a damn about them" thing...

As of game day, tickets remain in the black areas

Notre Dame is different because of the NBC thing dating back forever. They built their fan base well before cable TV was a thing. So they had a head start. What is another religious school with such a devout (pun intended) following. Fandom is much more generational with those midwesterners.

Lindsay Nelson & the Sunday morning replay highlights show!

That's true. Only decent thing on Sunday TV back then besides Davy and Goliath.
The only other show I 'd see was on the Independent TV station in Worcester during my college days: Grambling football highlights in the 70s...

When I was accepted into UConn in the early 1980’s, my SAT scores were below the top 33% and above the bottom 67% of my class. Now, those same scores would put me above 33% and below 67% of the current freshman class. Based on that, UConn is clearly more difficult to get into now. But I often wonder if the difficulty of the SAT has changed in the last 40+ years.
Not sure you can be below 33% and above 67%! How did you do on the math part? Lol

There has to be a top dog and in that category it's ND but, BYU has a devout fairly large following as well.
