Tianna Hawkins - AA Candidate?

I am wondering what the general thoughts are on this player. She is putting up nearly 20 points a game for Maryland and is shooting just over over 66% for the year. I think she may have lead the nation in shooting percentage last year??? She's also pulling down 10 rebounds a game.

Is she one of the top players in the nation? Her statistics certainly seem to put her in the conversation but I have never seen her discussed in any AA conversations.

She's a local kid who was ranked 100 or so (or lower) in high school. Last year, she and Alyssa Thomas formed a nice tandem. Based on our game vs. the Terps, some things I've read here in D.C., and her stats, I'd say that she has a real shot at a 10-player AA team. She is outplaying Thomas, I believe (though Thomas may draw the defensive attention). Not sure if it was a local source (Wasington Post) or national source, but someone speculated that she could be the 4th draft pick. I was surprised, but then thought about it, and decided just maybe....

I think she's been under the radar, but has really improved over the past two seasons. She has size, strength, and skills,

Hawkins is out-shooting Ogwumike by a little and Thomas by a wide margin and has more points and almost as many rebounds as Chiney on a per minute basis. As of today, she's an AA in my book. Alyssa's shooting percentage is really low for her. Look for it to improve.

Based on our game...she was the biggest challenge. Of course, that might not have been the case had Kelly not been dedicated to Alyssa...

My bad--Tianna, not Tierra.

In the pre-season, Brenda said that Tianna had improved more than any player she had evet coached. Tianna was ranked 133 by one service.
