Here's something interesting:

This season, Shabazz's 3Pt% in games where he takes 4 or fewer threes is 25.8% (10 games, 1 game no attempts)
When taking more than 4 threes, his percentage is 37.8% (11 games)

If what is being clamored for (Boatright taking over major PG duty) happens, and Bazz plays the 2 more, does it benefit us to have Bazz taking more shots? Is it possible that he's the type of guy who needs a lot of shots, makes adjustments, gets into a rhythm, or "catches on fire."

Maybe too small a sample size, but thought it was interesting.
If you look at Lamb's numbers, you will see very little variation of shooting percentage based on 3PAs.

Now take it a step further, let's examine overall FG%.
Shabazz with 9 or fewer FGA shoots 23.5% (10 games)
Shabazz with 10 or more FGA shoots 45.7% (12 games)

If we do think that this is a significant difference, what does the gameplan become? Nullify Shabazz, make him a pure distributor and suppress his shooting, or move him over and make him a volume scorer behind Lamb?

I get what your saying but its kind of a flawed stat. When Bazz is shooting well and has confidence he shoots more. When he is struggling he shoots less.

When Kemba was off shooting he would drive to the hope (i.e. shoot closer to the rim). Bazz should consider that strategy to break out of his slump. Him and JL are shooting to far back, but both are deadly closer to the hoop.

There is definitely some truth in that. It's just odd, because for Lamb, he seems to shoot from 3 about the same regardless of how many he jacks up, and for FGs, he's the opposite of Shabazz. Lamb shoots 55% in his 10 games with his fewest FGA, yet shoots 44% in his 12 games with the most attempts.

I guess it could be that Lamb feels he needs to keep shooting regardless as the first scoring option on the team, and keeps trying to shoot his way out of a slump, whereas Shabazz has the option to be a bit more selective with his shots.

I agree Kitaman, a lot of shooting woes can be aided by merely working the ball a bit closer, which can be tough to do. But Bazz needs to not take those jumpers just inside the 3 point line with little separation, and Lamb needs to stop taking NBA distance threes.

Lamb and Bazz will get out of their shooting slumps soon. There too good. We are much better with the 3 guard lineup and Bazz playing the 2

I wonder if we are seeing shooting slumps that is, at least in part, due to the two of them getting worn down by playing 40 minutes a night with much greater responsibility that last year. Add to that the fact that Bazz has/had an injured foot. Both of their shots have become flatter and it's hard to understand how Jeremy Lamb can miss some open shots so badly. I doubt that they would ever admit to it, but I wonder if their bodies are not ready to handle that kind of sustained effort. Kemba was a bit of a freak the way he managed all of the minutes last year and I don't think that we can just assume that others will be able to handle that kind of demand.

Lamb has been holding his back like its hurt the last couple of games. Sure that doesn't help.

I've been thinking the same thing. Another part of Kemba's game that we took for granted last year was his ability to play close to or exactly 40 minutes and not really seem to tire out(I think his shooting woes midseason were due more to the D's he was facing). Kemba pretty much had 2 straight years where he got to learn how to pace himself and deal with being on the floor all that time as he did it his soph year too. This is Jeremy and Bazz's first year doing so, and they had to carry a big load in the beginning of the season with no Boat and the frontcourt struggling. Add to the fact that Bazz was playing 40 minutes on a sprained foot(what most Bazz bashers just gloss over like its nothing at all) and its easy to see why they might not be getting their legs into their shots and struggling right now.
