I recognize the name Mestdagh from Team Belgium in Tenerife. And Ndour, of course.

Kia Nurse (UC Capitals) scored 29 points in a losing cause to Melbourne, a team they handily beat the first game of the season. The UC Capitals are still in 1st place with a record of 3-1. Of note, Kia was fouled 10 times, not surprising after she schooled Melbourne for 26 points in their 1st match. If contact was what she was looking for when she signed on with an Australian League, she found it.

The website in the original post is now back up and caught up through yesterday.

These are the last games that I am going to post like this as Barbara Turner played her first game for Bendigo:

University of Canberra Capitals vs. Melbourne Boomers 78-84 UCC Nurse 29 Griffin 19/11r Froling 10 Mitchell 3 McLaren 2 MEL Talbot 17 Allen 17 Magbegor 15/9r George 12/7r Garrick 12 O'Hea 9 Boothe 2 Purcell 0
Perth Lynx vs. Bendigo Spirit 77-72 PER Taylor 26/9r Schwagmeyer 16 Steindl 11/8r McPhee 9 Allen 4 BEN Tomlinson 16/8r Hurst 14/7a Tessari 11 Payne 10 Whittle 5/9r Wild 4 Turner 3 Tobin 2/8r

Tina Charles played her first game for Dynamo Kursk and you can see her game-by-game stats here:

Breanna Stewart has also had her domestic league stats page created:

Very nice 'Gabriella'. :)

Still, she needs to develop real confidence in a 15-18' jump shot to get space for her driving lanes.

Her defense is always there and I think Amber Stocks appreciated it. Any news on who the new Chicago Sky coach will be?

No news that I know of on the coaching job. I didn't feel like Gabby was used optimally last year. It will be interesting to see how she fits into the plans of whoever ends up being the new coach.

Stewie vs KML right now on you tube

Fantastic. Thanks. Don't forget Tina Charles is also on Stewies team. It is really funny listening to the Russian Music after the US in Worlds effort.

I'm watching Stewie's game and, literally, there seems to be about 100 people in the stands.

Stewie and Tina on the same team ? Hmm , I think they have a good chance to win the Euroleague title.

Goodluck beating UMMC

In addition to Stewie and Tina, Kursk has assorted other good players such as Epiphanny Prince, Anna Cruz, Marta Xargay, and Sonja Petrovic.

UMMC has Vandersloot, McBride, Alba Torrens, Meesseman, Jonquel Jones, Griner, and Maria Vadeeva.

I'm sure the battles between those two for both the Russian league and Euroleague will be intense.

WATN: Kaili McLaren (UConn '10)

The delay of Tolo's return further complicates the picture surrounding short-term import Kaili McLaren given her contract is set to expire on December 6.

McLaren signed a short-term deal with the Capitals to aid Canberra coach Paul Goriss' chances of covering the loss of one of the competition's premier players.

The United States product has already asked Goriss about the prospect of extending her contract to the end of the season and the pair had planned to discuss their options over dinner.

Now Tolo's setback could pave the way for McLaren to earn an extension should it fit within Canberra's budget as the Capitals firm as a genuine chance to snap a seven-year finals drought.

Here's a highlight video of the UC Capitals v. Melbourne Boomers game played this past weekend. Kia Nurse (#11) is featured making several of the shots but the best is saved for last in the video, as she hits the game winner with 18 seconds remaining,
