For those who think this win wasn't big because "Pitt is a bad team", c'mon. A win the team needed and can't we celebrate that. They now have a foot in the door for the Dance, one more Tuesday and they're a shoe-in I think......nice win guys!

Shabazz and Roscoe were superb. Bazz has onions, missed some open looks but made them when they counted and made plays when it counted. Roscoe made big putbacks, showed energy on the offensive boards and hopefully this continues. Having him out there smiling and having fun is huge for this team I believe......oh yeah the hug with JC/Bazz said it all about this win!!

Boat made some great plays in the first half but kind of hid a little in the 2nd......played hard but wasn't as aggressive. Need him to bring the energy and making plays finding seams in the zone a little more.

Alex came out on fire, great play call 1st play of the game as Bazz waited for him to cut and he caught it and finished........then a strong rebound and putback.....then poof, gone for a while. I will say he was pushed a few times under the basket but the refs were okay with that so he and Andre needed to be tougher and hit first......2 big FT's at the end to keep it over 2 possessions

Andre....wow...have to say I really hope his "people" make the right decision for him. I realize it's probably unbelievably difficult to run from millions but he isn't close to being ready for the next level, not close...his talent is undeniable but his basketball knowledge is. He gets so lost on defense at times it's scary and quite honestly he is one of the main reasons we have trouble with the ball off screens on defense. Holds on to his hedge way too much and doesn't get back with any quickness to his guy. Love the shotblocking ability but he's always lining it up and when he doesn't get involved in the dunk he isn't ready to rebound. 5 boards today is unacceptable for that man and his size. On offense when he gets the ball with his back to the basket nothing good ever happens....on the baseline he looks to pass it way too often instead of finishing....use your shoulder and get some space and throw up a jump hook or jam it home Andre......He needs to be BIGGER when he has the ball, wider stronger with it.....no fade away jumpers....never leave the basket when the ball goes up.....He can be so so good but he needs JC another year at least really bad....

Jeremy.....as many have mentioned his defense is lacking but not as bad some may think. Many of his good defensive plays were off of anticipation plays, getting in passing lanes and deflecting or stealing the ball. While he did get better towars the latter part of the year he struggled defensively most of his freshman year. I think he's looking to much to make those same kind of plays and not focusing on keeping his man in front of him enough....he got beat today and fouled Moore for the "and-1" reason being he was slow getting back to his guy after a pick and AO held him off for a while, actual confusion between the 2 but it was a bad play by both....need him to hit more open jumpers and get his confidence back for a run.....running off of picks hard and tight is the key for him as they are playing him real physical as they should!

Refs Today............they were good for the most part. Amazing couple of touch fouls on UConn first half which puzzled me because Pitt was manhandling people on the other end and nothing.....Have to say one thing though they need to grow some Nads - Andre goes up for an alley oop and Taylor (i think?) knows it's a good foul because of his FT shooting inability so he forearms him OOB's and hence no hoop - now the refs know this will be an issue as they aren't stupid so the hack-Andre thing will be big - make them go for the ball please, can't just say "Ah screw it I'll push him out of the play so he doesn't dunk this", intentional foul needs to be called if he doesn't attempt to make a play on the ball.....lastly we were fortunate to get the "biggest call" of the game - Roscoe was not there on the charge, no way and I don't blame Jamie for laughing and getting a little crazy on that one but hey we have a few coming so we'll take it for sure right?!!

All in all great win and our hopes for the dance remain alive and that's a great thing for Husky fans!!

Can't disagree with much of that, Brother Mau, especially about Drummond. Some around here are ready to put him ahead of Okafor(comparing them as frosh), but he's not close. Lots of raw talent, but needs another TWO years to develop it. Unfortunately he probably won't get them.

Good post. I enjoyed the game (although not as much as I'd like). Pitt playing us is never a bad team. It was an excellent win, not perfect but nonetheless excellent. As you said Mau a lot of things went right, including Bazz offensive points. Lamb is too 'polite' with the ball, I was hoping that he would take the game over in the 2nd half, maybe he is the one most affected with Kemba being gone. Roscoe was the game changer and his presence/play made the difference in the victory.

Pitt is not a bad team, they are 1 of about 9 teams that can win or
lose any given night in the BE. Drummond is taking heat for his funky moves and rebounding but how many shots did he block or alter? He was knocking balls away from Pitt players that ended up being rebounds for other guys on our team. I think he should stay because his game will improve 1000 per cent, but even when he doesn't score he is a force in there. loved what Roscoe did.
