This Year’s Lineup

I’ll pick up the mantle since 611 quit on us and say I’m bullish on Ross. Although he hasn’t shown much yet I think he’ll surprise us and be part of the rotation
It’s honestly kinda hard to predict whether the lights turn on for a kid or not. Seems the coaches think there’s a good chance, but they also thought the same last year with zero results.

6'7" 205# is skinny?
Yes. Those numbers if he’s truly 6’7” which we don’t know for certain should be a muscular 215-220 but he looks less than 205. What does the eye test tell us about his muscular build? Thin.

Last year Stewart was a starter with AK then Liam out, then for the most part better minutes than Ross.

Stewart had some really good games and some where the minutes yielded little scoring or rebounding. We're looking for more consistency with Stewart.

Ross played well early, but really who didn't... as we got to Big East play and Diarra was finally the starting PG, Ross got few minutes.

Still feels like a Samson upgrade though...
Think he is already an upgrade as a freshman over last year's Samson. Reibe already has a pretty good set of offensive moves around the rim and can shoot from the outside and even put the ball on the floor. It wouldn't take much to outdo Samson's rebounding which was pretty much nonexistent. It took a long, long time for Samson to even look comfortable out on the floor. He did the best he could so a lot of heart. Reed/Reibe duo has a lot of potential to me. It's not Sanogo/Clingan yet but they're going to be a handful for most teams. I love the idea of a more up-tempo game with that deep bench.

Barring an injury, I would be quite surprised to see Karaban at the five at all. All due respect to Singare, Koroma is a much better player and I fully expect will play that break glass in case of emergency role.
Hoping Koroma can shine as a defender because he's 6-6 and if he can defend well against guards he could be problem coming off the bench.

He’s 6’8 and not capable of defending guards consistently. I struggle to see a situation where he carves out a role bigger than foul trouble/injury insurance at the 4/5. Any other minutes for him would come at the expense of Karaban, Tarris, Stewart, or Reibe. But I think he’s a good fit for that role and that’s important to have on the team.

Very athletic and talented. 22% from 3 but 40% from the field which is actually not that bad, he makes a lot of close range shots. But his 3 point shot looks good. McNeeley shot 38% fg granted more attempts.
We will have a lot of guys that can shoot the 3 better so maybe he limits that and scores other ways, steals, defends and drives to the hoop. Do what he’s good at and be very valuable to the team.

His 2pt% is fine because he dunked so much. He also took 2x as many 3s as 2s despite the horrible % from deep. He needs to shape up on offense to see the floor. I doubt he's getting the overly long leash from coach this year when we have championship aspirations

AK, Tarris, Silas, Ball, Mullins is likely the starting 5.

Amorphous lineup will change with fouls, mental mistakes, rest, and unfortunately injury to have Reibe / Smith / Furphy / Stewart / Kromah would be their position replacements or work their way into the starting lineup if they amaze. I think we're 9 deep with Ross teetering on the 10 line.

Can’t wait for this to start! How long do we think it will take ( with new players learning this complex offense) for this team to really come together?

Not sure if anyone came across this but I figured I would share. I can’t wait for the season to start!!!

Where's 611 to pin his Ross was invited to a Tatum camp angle on this battle?

Who is the person who wrote this? Are they legit? That's quite a take on Furphy. If they're right then we got ourselves a steal and should be really deep and talented since I don't think anyone on here had Furphy going 13th in the 2026 NBA Draft and starting for UConn this coming season.

Tremendous evaluation and Furphy has a bit of Larry Bird in him with his smarts and BBIQ. This writer would make him a starter ahead of Mullins which is shocking and not happening but it’s great to have a kid with this talent.
Here’s what I liked: He has no hesitation on shooting and he uses fakes and hesitation to get his shots off. If he doesn’t have the shot he passes very quickly for someone who does.
He has a bit of a Cam like mid game and getting to the line.
He D’d up Dybantsa pretty well and didn’t fall for fakes.
He’s played high talent so what will he do in the tough as nails BE? And how can he get enough floor time?

Thank you. That’s the best article I’ve seen on him to date. Appreciate you posting it!

Wow! That's a serious endorsement of Jacob Furphy. With his international experience and style of play one of his strengths will be helping to keep our team offense flowing, and making the players around him better. I'm sure he will get his points too. We are so loaded this year, definitely contending for a title.
